Long story short. Bought the wife a new ride. 322 miles. Some jack*** with a jacked up pickup cut across in front of her and smashed the front  end. Totaled the car. Wife was bruised and thumped around but no major issues, thank GOD. Of course, he had no insurance  :madashell:, even though he told me, my wife and the Deputy that he did have insurance.  Liar, cheat and many other words. Considering installing some type of video equipment in all my rides to try and help in the future. It's a little late for this go around but never hurts to prepare for the future--lots of goofs out there on the roads. Have checked out the internet and there are literally hundreds of choices from $19.99 to over $250.00. Don't want to be cheap but don't want to overpay either. Suction mount to the windshield? Mount over the existing rear view mirror? One camera or two? Anybody using these accessories? Brand names? Good sources for info? Any recommendations? Anything to stay away from? Thanks folks.  :help:

I use a Go Pro Hero camera. They suction mount to the windshield (or the outside of the car - it's a strong suction mount). You can also take it underwater if you like to snorkel or scuba.

I have the same camera Dodj has, but I got it for a drone.  I want to get a drone with a camera, put it in follow mode, and let it follow the car around filming from the air.  Haven't gotten that far yet.

I recently purchased a Garmin Dash Cam 35.  The reason I got this one is that there are states starting to pass laws that won't allow a sucker cup on the windshield or something that attaches to the rear view mirrow.  The picture I have attached currently has my Garmin GPS on it, but the camera will also clip onto this stand.  It is weighted and can be bent around into different shapes so that you can just sit it on the dash.

Here is a link to the legal stuff.

Toxic, do you have a Hero 5 or 6? When getting a drone, be aware of the drone's top speed. Some of them won't be as fast as your car. Oh wait, nothing is as fast as that car!  :burnout:

Actually, I think it's a Hero 4   I'm not sure.  That's one of those ideas that never really ... "got off the ground"  :haha:
