I was just looking at the Retro pics Thread and saw the picture of the 8-Track tape deck with a Led Zeppelin tape in the player and it got me thinking.  When watching Barrett Jackson or Mecum Auctions on TV they will often comment on the Tape title of an 8-Track tape that's in the player on cars on the auction block.  Since my '70 Cuda came with an AM 8-Track player I was thinking it would be cool to have a tape in the player when I go to car shows, cruise nights etc.  I grew up in So Calif during the 60s and some of my favorite bands were the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, Safaris, Rolling Stones, Creedance, Three Dog Night, etc.  But I can't think of any Muscle Car songs/Albums any of these bands had other Little Deuce coupe, Dead Mans curve, Hey Little Cobra, Little Old Lady from Pasadena, and Little GTO.  Looking for suggestions as to what would be a good 8-track rock tape/album to channel the Muscle Car vibe, especially since I'm running a 512 stroker, 4-speed, headers and 3" exhaust.  While not necessay, it would be nice to use a tape that was released in 1970.   :stayinlane:   :driving: .

I have a brand new (still in the wrapper) Led Zeppelin III that I will play for the first time in my 8 track player.  I'm going to listen to "Immigrant Song" over and over as I cruise around in my E-Body.      :burnout:

To be authentic, you need a match book underneath or on the top of the tape to line it up just right (us old guys will understand).

Growing older is mandatory...growing up is optional.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Ha, ha: Back in the day I had 4 suitcases of those tapes that I had to move from the Challenger to the truck. I threw them all away now though.

I still have some 8 tracks if someone with a player in their car wants them.

While I like all the choices I think you'll have a tough time finding   Boston - Cool the engines  on 8 track since it was released in 1986 & the last mainstream 8 track was released in 84...

Just looked at that 8 track price guide. Wow I could have bought another car with what I threw away. Who remembers pulling the tape out and trying to snap it to get it to wind back up inside?

As a kid I spent a lot of time in the back seat of my stepfathers 71 Challenger. He had a whole case of 8-tracks but every time I hear Don Mclean or Guess Who it takes me back to fond memories of that time and car. It's been soooo long since I've heard an 8 track I can't remember what the sound quality was like.... I think I remember a constant hiss?
