I am getting an estimate for an addition to my current garage that will include in floor radiant heat but depending on price not sure if I`ll pull the trigger or not. If I don`t do the addition I was thinking of ways to keep me warm out there during the long, cold winter months. I have a hot air heater on the ceiling that works great but my feet always get cold limiting my time in there. Any viable options for heated floor mats that work good, anyone use them? I found a couple ones similar to this - https://cozywinters.com/shop/snow-melting-mat.html

I don't know what your garage is like but if you have the head space for a ceiling fan it will be a low cost option and work great.

That may help bit but I doubt it will really heat up the cement floor enough to make a difference.

That's what I have and it works. I have used a temperature gun and I can shoot anywhere, right, left, high or low and it's all within 1*. The walls are well insulated and maybe that helps maintain an even temperature throughout.  :dunno:

What climate and what do you have for a floor? Around here temps from `30`s F to single digits are common, floor is a mushroom slab probably only 4-6" thick, my walls and ceiling are insulated and sheetrocked. I keep it at 45-50 degrees and turn it up to 65 when I am out there working.

I live in southwestern Ontario so about the same temps. Walls and ceiling are insulated, steel ceiling, plywood walls. I do have insulation under 5-6" of concrete.

What about a big rug for the work area ? I've done that along with a ceiling fan without ay issues.

Lose the forced air heater and get an infrared heater. More efficient and will keep objects warm. Not the air. Hard to believe you get cold at 65 f. Wish I could keep my garage that warm...
