  Hello Everyone,

I had to go to Harwood Motors here in Northern Ohio to pickup a 1930 Cadillac Conv I am transporting to Los Angeles. It will then be flown to a customer in Russia.

I had to wait a couple of hours for the wire transfer to be accepted, a slight delay when you are talking about $169,900.00 LOL The wait was ok though as Harwood is known for always having a large inventory of high end cars.

I saw this & thought I might share it! They made 50 of them. One was totaled on the pace lap. According to Mike from Harwood, this is one of 5 that is still all original.

Last picture is of course the Caddy!

That's pretty cool! Wonder what that Challenger is worth?

That Cadillac is pretty nice but not my cup of tea. Someone in Mother Russia has a new toy coming.

They don't really go for all that much. It being all origional would help but 318 doesn't help it any. I thoight they were all column auto cars🤔 There was a discusdion here a few minths back about them. A member in Indy sold one but it needed a lot of work. I'd love to have one   8)  8)

There's a pace car near me also. I wonder how many they made. The caddy is great but sad to say the generation that wanted those cars are slowly disappearing. I often wonder what the fate of those cars and ours will be in the future.

Sounds close to Murray's thread... https://forum.e-bodies.org/cuda-and-challenger-general-discussion-roseville-moparts/2/lots-of-projects/9661/

sounds like someone paid around $169,900 plus transportation costs to Russia, for an 88 year old Cadillac .....
looks like our ~48 year old cars have some collectable life left in them

there are 50 actual '71 Challenger "Indy pace cars" that were used for on-track festivities
two 383 4bbl (primary & back-up Pace Cars) - three 383 2bbl - three 340 4bbl & the rest are 318

the 340 cars are the only ones that "might" have had a "sport hood" (the rest are flat)

an unknown number of "replicas" were ordered by dealers after-the-fact

the car "damaged" at the start of the race was far from "totaled" & was fixed not too long ago, it sat wrecked for a long time
it now resides at ---- https://www.facebook.com/rpmcollection

Thank You 6bblgt for clearing up a few things. I am sure the gentleman that gave me a few details was not up on the recent restoration
of the wrecked one.

Here is a link to their ad describing this car.  I have no affiliation with them other than just picking up the Caddy there & I will be dropping a 442 there in a couple of weeks.

Turns out this one was completely restored. I don't believe the price is too far out there being a real car & also being completely redone.

Needs PolyGlas tires :alan2cents: nice car, optimistic price

Wouldn't the Goodyear Speedway tires with the original wheels would be a better choice?

JH27N0B

Aren't those the wheels that were shown as being a wheel choice on Challengers in the option book, but never released?
If so good luck finding a set!
I've seen a few pace car Challengers over the years so I never thought them super rare.
The accident at the 500 always gave them a dubious destinction in my mind!

Those wheels were not on all 50 of them, I think they were only on the actual pace car that crashed.

the #1 pace car is the only one with the Motor Wheel "EXITER" wheels and "SPEEDWAY" Goodyear tires on it
- wonder if 14" rallye wheels and F70-14 POLYGLAS are consistent for the rest of them  :dunno:

Their ad says no one was seriously hurt.
I've always heard at least 1 photographer was killed, maybe more?
