I knew a guy who had a fast van.
He got it cheap because the original engine had quite working, and he just left the original dilapidated engine under the hood there, with its rust and broken wires and rats nests.
He mounted a big block behind the front seats and ran a short driveshaft.
He'd cruise around and race people from stoplight to stoplight, and then go to the local burger joint and leave the hood propped open so everyone could see what beat them.
