Tis' better to have owned classic Mopars and lost than to have never owned at all (apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

The liberal republic of California, at it again.

It was illegal in Santa Cruz back in the 90's... One of the reasons I left... I loved the climate & the area was awesome for evening cruises but the laws about working on cars were a PITA & when I bought a car needing a total restoration I knew I'd never get it done over there.... I had a neighbor that had called the cops on me when ever I lifted a hood.... Richard Cranium...

I returned the favor the day it took him over an hour to install his new license plates...  The cops came out & ticketed him...

Funny thing, the cops never actually ticketed me, they would come out & give me a "warning" along with a heads up on who was calling... (Did I mention I worked on allot of the cops cars when they came through the dealership.... :haha:

On another occasion (On a Sunday) he had a hot water hose to the back of the washing machine blow off....  He & his wife had no idea what to do but in spite of their dislike for a blue collar guy in their neighborhood the wife came over & asked for help.... I could have just shut off the hot water to the washing machine.. Nope, I shut off the whole house.... I could have helped get the water out of the house & off of their beautiful inlaid hardwood floors, Nope, I left them to deal with it....  If they were decent to the neighbors I would have helped but Richard Cranium got what he gave.....

Not surprised. It's getting worse, buy a parts car you could loose it.

Unlicensed vehicle dismantling can happen anywhere. Anyone who suspects a person or business may be dismantling vehicles without the proper license or permit, should complete the online complaint form."

Good grief, looks like the lawmakers really want to force the public to live like slaves.

I live in Fillmore City which is a smaller and poorer town within Ventura County. I am at a point where we could easily afford a nicer home elsewhere in the county even at twice the cost. One of the reasons I stay is that people here are fairly laid back and would never consider calling the cops on me for working on my car. And believe me when I say I couldn't blame them. At times I make a big racket with the grinder or hammer or breaking in a new motor, etc. I have it pretty good with my neighbors and I never forget that if I moved to a nicer town in a nicer home, my car wrenching ways would diminish greatly, if not eventually disappear. I suspect this trend will continue in many of the nicer cities throughout the communist state of California.

Yup... People who actually want to work with their hands are looked down upon by many.... Such, a shame, California was the birthplace of Hotrods.. Not anymore...

That's unbelievable!
So what can they do if the garage door is closed?

The people coming up with this craziness are voted in. I share this stuff with people and they do not approve yet when I mention that it's time to vote them out, all I hear is "my representative is not like all the others." This of course is generally untrue. Many of these crazy laws are passed by overwhelming majorities. Our local reps may not have penned the laws but they voted for them and applauded its passage.

I honestly do not know why people live there.-Maybe it is time to banned together and revolt and dump those loony liberal politicians who make they laws...

Scary stuff for anyone of us that likes to work on our own vehicles, collect several parts vehicles or strip parts to repair our cars.

Same thing is going on in other states; check out this article about a situation in Ohio!

@Brads70 I know you complain about the socialist republic of Ontario but at least we're not that bad. I count every small blessing.

I don't live in that California, I live in the central valley, if you look at a Red/Blue map probably 80% of California is Red, unfortunately the population centers are Blue...  The county where I live has more CCW permits then the rest of the state.... And you can do most of what folks in the free world are able to do.....   I'd love to move elsewhere but it's not really an option right now... Momma won't leave her grandkids...

5% freaks generally control the other 95%. Same thing here in B.C. Canada. That's why it's time to leave.
