Wow, some really great doggos and heartwarming stories in this thread.

It's really tough when they go and my condolences to all that have lost them past and present.

My best girl Lila died early yesterday morning. She was 13 and had a great life but poor heath in the end, so I'm glad she's not suffering anymore.

Here she is in better days doing what she was made to do, swimming in the Great South Bay! I'm gonna miss her. I had her cremated and spread her ashes in the water right where this picture was taken. I threw her retrieving stick out for her one last time. :crying:

Oh well that's life and have to remember the good times, and never be too busy for another walk, game of catch or going swimming for the ones still here!

Sorry for your loss. I never understood until it happened to me.

Erik, I'm truly sorry for your loss, Trust me BTDT... Isn't it amazing how your other dogs can take a few sniffs & seem to understand & accept their friend has passed... I've done it both ways, had the other pets there when one passes, and taking the one to the vet never to return... The dogs who remain seem to do better when they have a chance however brief to understand what has happened....

Sorry for your loss.
Huge gaping hole that's left.
Truth be told, i would rather hang out with dogs than some people i know.

my Sophie hangs out with me in the garage.
