Received an email from JS restorations that he plans to retire soon, and has asked that his web page and sponsor info be removed from Moparts.
He stated he will finish all parts currently in house and in his possession, but then that's it. I currently have one last part with him being restored.

Very sad to hear as Jim is a wonderful man, patient and does tremendous work.
Wishing him Godspeed in retirement!

That's sad news for the hobby as Jim provided top notch quality work and is a wonderful person.  He will surely be missed. That said, I wish him a long and healthy retirement.

Just curious, when you say "big shoes to fill" how would you know that?  Just got off the phone with Jim 15 minutes ago which has been a very close friend of mine for many years, said he never received a single Canadian penny from you with the 50+ cars you say you've restored. :looney:

@FE5CUDA  You may or may not know this but Jim had to repair at least one of those Canadian restorations!!!    And after that he stopped participating on this forum.  :alan2cents:

I never needed Jim's services, but from the pictures I saw he did excellent work.
I hope he enjoys a long and happy retirement!

I've never needed his services because I have a local Canadian guy that I use, thanks for asking. :canada:

You don't need to use someone's service to know that they do awesome work and are well respected in the hobby. Google his company name and you'll find nothing but praise for the guy...There's not a lot of companies in this field of work, so his contributions to the hobby will be missed..

Jim did several switches for me and they all turned out great. I was thinking of having him restore another dash dimmer switch but will have to go another route.

Was this really necessary?  :deadhorse:

I haven't spent a penny with Jim either but I do recognize from the various pictures and threads that he does outstanding work. I agree that he will be missed and from what I read he sounded like a super nice guy that was always willing to lend a hand.

I've never "needed" any of his services, but if I did he would be the one I'd like to deal with
