I sit here reading these comments from all of you and have to shake my head. All the liberals here in the US brag how good Canada is and how we should be more like Canada. I guess they need to move there for a few years and see how good they have it here living in their Moms basement. Not trying to get political here just amazed to hear the other side from people who live there.

Don't even get me started , Brad knows what I am talking about & is ready to leave & I didn't leave because it was a good place to live ...

You got it. It's been coming a long time. I don't owe anyone anything, when they stop paying my CPP and OAS (that I have paid into for 45 years) I'll be out of here so fast it will make your head spin. If we don't have decent healthcare and safe policing there is no need to live in this beautiful but cold country.

And where will you go that's really any better?

Yeah, that's the question, eh Murray? Neil said it when he said that the Socialists er, the Liberals, love to spend our money. They came to power even though they said they were going to run a deficit of "only" $10,000,000,000 and the latest # I've seen looks like it'll be nearly $19,000,000,000- this year. That's just how much MORE than they take in, that they're going to piss away!! Canada could make it, if the F'n politicians had half a brain and our children and grandchildren wouldn't be stuck paying the bill. I shouldn't get going on this, because it just blows the old BP right out the window! Marx and Lenin were slightly wrong; it should've been "first we kill the politicians" not the lawyers. They come second. LOL

There is no place better.  8)

Unless you are talking January....then I can name a few places.

I disagree: The geography here is great but I can see moving closer to the tropics and enjoying more than 6 months of the year. Don't tell me about winter sports, I know all about them. Don't tell me about free healthcare either, I seen how my 92 year old Dad was treated the last 2 years of his life. Canada was an awesome place in the 60's and 70's it's been going downhill ever since.

Sheldon, just think how much better your Dad's care could have been if the tree huggers in BC didn't prevent OUR (Canada's) pipeline, to be able to move Alberta's oil to the west coast. Now that the whole country has to pay for it, just to see it sit there since Trudeau hasn't got the cojones to invoke the notwithstanding clause and make it happen, how about they calculate the revenue lost due to BC's inability to play well with others and deduct that amount from any federal funds sent to BC? BC's a beautiful place, too bad Californiacrazy has leeched over the border, eh?

That's why I am getting out of here. Hopefully Alberta will dump Canada and if they do I'm moving there for sure. I am likely moving there anyway, just waiting for the house to sell. We may just move to Northern California or Mexico though. I'm not dealing with paying to bring up everyone's babies, buying drugs for all the deadbeats, lack of a justice system etc. There are just too many things wrong that won't be fixed. You can't really blame anywhere west of the Ontario/Manitoba border for anything though, the elections are determined east of there, our votes don't count and never have.
The pipeline in the west should have been jammed through but it wasn't by the Ontario/Quebec elected Ladyboy. And it's the same story on the pipeline to the east coast, it should be forced through rather than support Terrorist oil.
The Spaz in B.C. was not elected, he got less than 50% or the seats and a new election should have been called. Even so, he should have been put in his place, just like Quebec should be put in their place. The equalization process is pretty consistent in sending B.C. Ab. Sask money east. I guess Bombardier, GM, Fiat and the Quebec unions need our help.

Do yourself a big favor... Look elsewhere cause all that you dislike about Canada is worse here....

:iagree: I was just about to post the same.
It's not going good here, some of our family is thinking about moving back to America. We are looking at Idaho

No not really, we only have 360 Billion in unfunded pension liabilities and growing. When you stop paying fireman, cops, and other essential civil servants their pensions - folks will look elsewhere for work. Its sad and manipulated to high hell but we are turning into Chicago where they tax you for everything under the sun.

:bricks:

I for one cannot wait to get out of here. I just had a longtime friend move out just yesterday.

A little funny but sad

Pretty dang funny. I remember back in the mid to late 80's we had bumperstickers that said Welcome to California now go home. Well no one went home and we imported a ton of H1B workers to boot.

Sad thing is agree with most of his 10 points. Time to leave the desert.

I live in a country where it's actually illegal to protect myself , family and property. If someone breaks into my house in the middle of the night with a gun and I shot them. I go to jail, and will be ruined financially let that sink in....
I live in a country where they extort the proceeds of my labour and give it to known terrorists!
I could go on and on but I'd better stop now..... politics ruined the other site.
