How Would You Transform Your Cuda/Challenger?

Upgrade the engine, suspension, and brakes for modern performance while keeping the classic look.
Keep the original powertrain but modernize interior and exterior touches

I feel if it's not a numbers car do what ever you like and can afford now days. I just finished my Cuda and went 6.1 stroked to 426 with a 5 speed and alterkation front and 4 link rear with 4 wheel disc's. I also have a 69 440 charger for the past 35 years that gives me the old school hot rod feel. I can tell you I really do think the best of both worlds is an original looking Mopar with modern upgrades under the skin. Here is a pic of what me and a few friends built in my backyard.

It's just always been a pet peeve of mine, don't like seeing the top of the tire.
Yes, ebodyproducts does nice work.
avatar_ebodyproducts @ebodyproducts ...what happened with the 'cuda you acquired that was, if I remember right, in two pieces, a dark purple or blue with a big "cuda" painted on the side?

Rod, We should start a club. The 20 Footer's...lol.  I'm in there too. When I see some of the outstanding work done by some of the members it makes me think my car is really sub par. I still enjoy it though.
As to the top of the wheel being seen. I'm with you all the way on Challengers. They were set up that way from the factory, but were 'cudas? I think the full wheel was visible on the showroom floor...no?

@dodj, the orange 71 is that car.  It's almost complete.

avatar_dodj @dodj Here is the way I got the car after it had been illegally parted out by a restoration shop.  You can see the full build in the "Your Restoration Project" forums.  You can see the original EV2 orange peeping through the purple paint in several places.

This is what I want to do to a cuda.
You guys, please watch through the first 2 minutes anyway.
No one has done this to a mopar and that is what I dream of.

avatar_cuda hunter @cuda hunter That is awesome!!  I wonder what a vinyl top would look like on the rendering?  I love vinyl top cars.

I was always intrigued as to what he used for a front axle and transfer case.

But otherwise, keeping it original-looking with it's simple vintage design, and powerful engine components.
I believe it is these styling elements that make this vintage automobile special and unique.
It's not about winning the street race, although that's pretty nice when we do.
It's about such an amazing performance car reachable by most citizens without the deep wallet.
Not to mention the (lack of) safety features so prevalent in later cars.

That said, modern engine offerings and safety features are making an impact to this legacy.
What avatar_pschlosser @pschlosser said + anti-lock brakes if that hasn't already been mentioned.

Hmmmm.... NIKKI has a bunch of suspension upgrades, plenty of power and I just had my seats stuffed so my interiors good. Full body/paint be my guess. She gets driven, so pristine ..... she's not even close.

So thats what you want the M46 scoops for!
I wanted the scoops before I ever wanted the car.
I'm a scoop guy so the m46 being the ONLY cuda side scoop it appealed to me a long time ago.

hang around here long enough, and you kind of learn trends with people.  cuda hunter has a thing for the M46 scoops and fender tags, don't get him started on fender tags. ;)

Oh, I remember Josh looking for scoops back in the cc.com days...my post was an apparently failed attempt at humour.

it was noted and chuckled at.
Ah, the CC.com days.   I sure made some good friends through that site.  I've been all over the states from meeting folks on that site.
Very unfortunate that all that information was simply lost.

Here we go, let's get on the m46 scoops !!  hahahaaha
