In this case, crush it and destroy the evidence of abuse. I like those trucks, they had a few issues like most vehicles do but I liked them overall. I restored this factory shortbox, 440 truck a few years ago.

I had a series of Dodge Rams always owned at least 1 or more  ,
starting with a 78 PW 360 4 spd 4x4 short box
78 PW E58 360 Warlock 4x4
79 Ramcharger SE 360 4x4
82 100 miser /6 4 spd lowered
75 PW 250 440 4spd lifted
then I got into Cummins power
with the 89 PW 250 5 spd 4x4 lifted & modified with an NV 4500 trans instead of the Getrag
All were reliable & cheap & easy to fix when nessisary
