Furthermore, I have very little trust in the news, the stats on the internet, etc etc.  Who can you really trust anymore for solid information?  Not that I don't believe ANYTHING, but I am skeptical of just about everything I see anymore.  Yes I'm skeptical even of the so-called fact checkers.  Everyone has taken sides and wants to push their agenda on you.  To some extent, I have to go by what I see and hear in talking to real people around me.  I go by what actual people have experienced.  So, I am interested in hearing more experiences of real people and less about the stats which are probably fudged.

:alan2cents:

Check out this site and see if you think it qualifies to your standards.  I'm not much interested in the reported cases since we know lots don't ever get recorded.  I also am skeptical of the number counted as dead from Covid, it is likely accurate or close considering more excess deaths have occurred than the number of "confirmed" covid cases.

https://ourworldindata.org/excess-mortality-covid

Pretty much 1,000,000 excess deaths since Jan 1 2020.  I don't believe that number is being fudged for some controllers.  Using the people around you isn't much of a sample, anecdotal is really worthless.  Sure can confirm biases though.

I'm apparently not savvy enough to get another screen shot from this site but as I speculated on an early post, it seems that the most recent post May 1 2021 deaths have shown a rise in age 15-64 deaths, and a drop in 65-74, big drop in 75-84, and 85+ is lowest.  The weak elderly got hit hard but those that made it are holding tough.  2nd graph down.

Yes mrna technology has been around for a while but not working vaccines "Messenger RNA, or mRNA, was discovered in the early 1960s; research into how mRNA could be delivered into cells was developed in the 1970s. So, why did it take until the global COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 for the first mRNA vaccine to be brought to market? "

The vaccine is not experimental, MRNA vaccines have been in development sine the late 80s, that is why it was developed so quickly.
You are right, it's not experimental, I got my first mRNA vaccine a couple years before covid. 2016 or 2017 I think? Still trying to figure out what to do with this sixth finger that started growing.......

While it has full regulatory approval as any other vaccine here in Canada and other countries, in the states they keep saying 'Emergency Use'. Don't know why, but I'm thinking there are some people here that can tell us.

I agree with most of what you say Jason. Except for the last part. I'm vaccinated as is most of my friends and family. A few (3) are not. But I'm not concerned about being around them or having them here for dinner. I'm trying to carry on with life as close to normal as I can.

Someone hand me a bat.  I wanna beat this colossally pulverized dead horse too.  haha

So I just got off the phone with my brother.  He's 58.  Said he had covid last week (he's not vaxed).  Temp of 102.7 and was sick for about 3 days and then was fine.
I know that if you don't go to the doctor like he didn't, then you don't become part of the statistics unless you report yourself to the health department.  Now, I'm not denying the fact that there was an increase in overall deaths in the past two years or whatever it's been now, but it made me wonder how many more people were positive and didn't go to the doctor (and therefore their covid experience wasn't reported or included in the statistics).  Probably a lot.  Why do I say this?  Because I know a lot of people who got covid and it wasn't even bad enough to go to the doctor.  My point is, this kind of thing affects the "chance of death" from getting covid which we already know was exaggerated.  All this crap about mandating vaccines for something that you have a 99% or more chance of surviving is mind blowingly F'd up.  It's a HUGE red flag.  HUGE.  Are people still dying of covid?  Yes.  But not like in the beginning.

I also wonder who makes these home covid test kits.  Does big pharma make them?  I've heard that there are a lot of false positives.  Which would kind of negate my point above, but at the same time, are they made to test positive on purpose? ... Hoping you'll go to the doctor, which will report your case to the health dept and make the covid numbers even higher and cause even more unnecessary panic???

A couple of the reasons I didn`t bother to go get tested - first is I don`t trust the accuracy of the tests, my wife tested negative twice with two different style tests last spring but Dr still diagnosed her as positive with covid, I just did a home test of both myself and my kid - I tested negative, he tested positive. Second is since I don`t trust the tests or the accuracy of the counting of positive cases and deaths I don`t care to add to thier numbers to perpetuate the panic and hysteria by the government and media.

When did we as a society become so skeptical and distrusting of EVERYTHING?

Breaking news, there is no global conspiracy to control you, there is no global reset coming.  The governments of the world / world leaders  could not agree on what to order for lunch, let alone PLAN a pandemic.  Hell the Federal and State governments can not even agree on how to  best fight covid.  Besides that, do you have any idea how many people would be involved to cover something lie that up???  Believing anything more is simply a conspiracy theory.

Does the advise / guidance keep changing, yes, the virus changes (its biological, that's what it does), so the science behind it changes, and then the guidance changes.  No one is trying to steal your freedom with that guidance.

The vaccine is not experimental, MRNA vaccines have been in development sine the late 80s, that is why it was developed so quickly. Man with the technology we have today I would hope we could find a way to develop a vaccine quickly.

Big Pharma is not trying to kill us with the vaccine either, and no they don't have the cure for cancer. Again, how many people would need to be involved in a cover up like that.

You want Covid, don't want the vaccine, fine, stay the hell away from me then.  I suspect there will be less long term effects from the vaccine, because MRNA vaccines do not typically present long-term effects,  then there could be from getting Covid.  No one knows the long term effect could potentially be.

Like I said, when did we become so skeptical of everything.

"Researchers have been studying and working with mRNA vaccines for decades. Interest has grown in these vaccines because they can be developed in a laboratory using readily available materials. This means vaccines can be developed and produced in large quantities faster than with other methods for making vaccines.

mRNA vaccines have been studied before for flu, Zika, rabies, and cytomegalovirus (CMV). As soon as the necessary information about the virus that causes COVID-19 was available, scientists began designing the mRNA instructions for cells to build the unique spike protein into an mRNA vaccine."

That quote is from the CDC site - "working and studying" is not the same as a vaccine released for use on the public.

No facts to back it up except on crazy qanon boards.
Is Qanon still a thing people follow?

You wouldn't think so but yet I still have 1 ex friend that is totally sucked in.  He is now divorced and has 2 sons totally in it too.  We have people in congress that follow it if it's to their advantage, and it seems to be.

Yes, QAnon some how has become a valid set of opinions to a percentage of people and it continues to get strings of its theories woven in to cable news broadcasts, which further helps legitimize its outlandish claims to many because it was talked about on "x" news show and they wouldn't report it if it wasn't true.

The problem is that cable news programs are not held to the same set of "truth  in reporting" requirements as are those channels that are available freely over the air without subscriptions. The FCC figures if you are willing to pay for disinformation, that is your choice and they won't infringe on it.  However, if it is broadcast over the freely available air waves, then there is a requirement that networks can not willingly pass along false information, which drives them to a certain level of verification. The FCC does have requirements for regulating distribution of known false information that applies to all the major networks including ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox Broadcasting. CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Newsmax and One America, as cable programs, do not have to meet this same requirement. This also becomes a self-propagating situation as those that hold up cable news as the "real" truth point to the lack of major network reporting as a part of the conspiracy to suppress information, when in fact, they cannot knowingly broadcast unverified information.

Frankly, I'm surprised the Q universe hasn't said the whole pandemic was a conspiracy of tech companies to create further dependency on their products and applications as it pushed huge amounts of the population into isolation that required we use and maintain their equipment, networks, and services.  That is a much larger market with much greater profit motive than vaccines' and sex slaves. But it also is a more boring and less emotional mantra that would actually cut their own throats since technology is how they get the misinformation distributed.

And you see corrections and even apologize when those networks are called on false information.  Happens infrequently but not almost continually like Fox, who would never admit wrong.

Scrolling through the google I don't see anything in the way of corrections or admitting wrong information for the lies they told. I see some back pedal after embarrassing over the top slander hoping to fend off law suits.

Googling Fox News Retracts and Fox News Corrects show even more evidence that they don't make corrections to their lies, those are ok, just soften the tone or making retractions late in the night.

This kind of stuff.

NPR, CNN and the New York Times also reported on this, no cover up from those notorious left wing sources.
