I''m actually blown away by the purchase prices of the 72 and 73 barracuda's.
What did that 72 have going for it to be worth 43K ?  It doesn't have a sunroof or V21 option and it's a 318 car.

That 72 was the highest price of all the cars

Like with any auction it was likely two guys wanting the same car ...the perfect storm...  :alan2cents:

Auctions.   All it takes is two.

I"m just blown away at the cost of those two cars.  They looked like they weren't driven much in a long time.
And the options are not that good at all.  I can buy those cars online somewhere right now for that price but I could drive them home and in much nicer condition.

I've really wanted to go to several of the vanderbrink auctions but every time I skip it I look back at the prices and they are just always waaaay over the top of what is the typical prices.  Even for the rare stuff.

I do estate auctions and did storage auctions for years as a side hobby income.  things often get out of control when two people want something but during most auctions there are always great deals to be had at below market values.  That's the draw to an auction.  These Vanderbrinks do not have that draw.  They are always overpriced.  I don't get it.
Is the mopar world and collections just drying up and there aren't going to be many of these things in the future?  Or is the generation above me really just itching to purchase their childhood/teenage dreams.
