I don't know Cody, I've been thinking about this for awhile.  When else in your like are you going to get to have/try $10,000 whiskey for only $200?  I'd lean toward drinking it with some really close friends when celebrating a great occasion someday.   

The money will be spent/gone, but the memories will last forever.

Well I may give you a different take on this. As someone who really enjoys a good bourbon I would say prices rise and fall with the economy. So yes the bottle you have is rare because that distillery is no longer in action and there are so many left. So with time you will find it should appreciate, the question becomes how fast will it appreciate and hence this is when I say it depends on the economy. Disposable income is at play here so the more folks have the more it will appreciate.

Japanese whiskeys have a cult following so this one may be good to hold onto for awhile.

I have a bottle of the 20 and the 12.  When people come over they cannot believe that I have a couple bottles of Pappy.  However most have no idea what it is or how expensive they are.
