Background: 2017 Challenger, 392 HEMI, Scatpack, SHAKER, (old school--Sublime, new school Go Green/Green Go). I am old school and I am still having trouble getting used to these Black wheels. I originally thought I would buy some wheels with a little more "bling" until I priced them.  :takemymoney: "Holy Crap" Just trying to get some ideas/suggestions on some ways to "trick out" these wheels. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Plastidip , cheap and if you don't like it you can peel it off.

Add redlines to the tires? Tire stickers? :stayinlane:

Thanks for the input but I was actually looking for ideas about the wheels themselves. Was trying to get ideas/suggestions about some type of paint effect to the wheel itself. Paint the recesses of the wheels? Paint the facing surface? Silver wheel paint? Anything out there that resembles Chrome but is durable enough for service on a wheel? Match the paint to body color? I am having brain freeze regarding this. Please help.  :please: :help:

MEK-Dangerous

My suggestion is getting a set of repros. I don't think the price is too bad either.

Actually your 2017 Challenger Green Go paint is the same "old school" colour used in 1970 / 1971.  Back then it was also called Green Go, while Plymouth called it Sassy Grass.  Sublime is a couple shades lighter than Green Go and was used on the 1970 and 2015 Challengers

I've seen the spokes painted body color, looked good IMO. also seen them powder coated chrome. as mentioned, plastidip is another options and is easy to peal off if you don't like it or want to switch things up. or used from another dodge - https://www.lkqonline.com/ can be a good resource to search the used yards nationwide if another style works better for you (then re-sell yours to recover costs). just a couple thoughts

@Plumcrazzy A friend, and member here, has a green Ram that he painted the centre of the spokes body colour. It looks good. I'll try to get a picture of it today and post it here.

Thanks MEK Dangerous for the link to the wheels---helped a lot. I pulled out my window sticker and determined that my wheels are 20" x 9" and are supposed to be polished aluminum faces with Black pockets. They are however, painted all Black. If you check out the link that MEK provided above you can see the wheel. It is called a Hellcat style wheel 20" x 9". I would like to know if the finish on the wheels is actual paint or something like powder coat because-------I am considering trying to remove the paint ONLY on the flat surfaces of the face of the wheel in an attempt to uncover the polished aluminum surface. Would try to use my die grinders with "flapper" wheels (for better control) to remove the paint then repolish the bare aluminum with a felt bob and compound. Thought about using some type of chemical stripper but am afraid it would migrate into the pockets and ruin the finish in the pockets. Sound like a decent plan? Suggestions? Thoughts? Jump in.

Before trying the flapper disc I would first try to remove the black paint from the flat polished surface by using a rag soaked in lacquer thinner. If you do this carefully the thinner will not migrate in the pockets. This should work on paint but not if he powder coated your wheels. Hopefully he just used a spray bomb to black out the wheels.

I really believe the finish is all factory because it looks too consistent to have been spray bombed. Thanks all for the ideas---will let you know if I have any success.

Coating on the wheels is impervious to lacquer thinner. Made a few calls to FCA and found out that the wheels are powder coated with a tougher than normal process (because they are wheels). Looked at a lot of websites for aftermarket wheels and all the wheels I like have a disclaimer way down at the bottom in fine print "will not fit cars with Brembo brakes". I might consider having the wheels stripped and powder coated with Chrome powder if I could see an example of Chrome powder. Would like to see the quality of reflectivity.
