... and it's a Hemi!!

Nasty wreck. There's some other pics out there on the web from a different perspective. Hit a telephone pole broadside and literally tore the car in half. IIRC it was fatal.  :(
Cheers!
Tom

Tis' better to have owned classic Mopars and lost than to have never owned at all (apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

Burdar

Yep.  :andyangel:  I think that was also the one where his family watched it happen.

The infamy of the '71 Pace Car ... :-[

Must of been a manual drum-brake car ...  :o

Just watched the video the other day.... He was flying.... When you drop off the track & onto pit row you can slow down.. WTH was he thinking?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uekPw_egDqY

He did practice runs, and placed an orange come to tell him when to slow down.
The track clean up crew removed the cone.
When he drove around, he never came to the cone, and didn't realize until it it was to late.

Yes, that Daytona has been restored...with every part in the AMD catalogue.

Road Runner from the Nats...from years ago.  Supposed to be a real Hemi car.  Was asking 10k.

Brads70

My Buddy Mike brought this one back from the dead, real R/T 4 speed car with 60000 something miles on it. Got hit hard in the rear and was left in a field for years.....
It's all back together now using original parts and AMD awaiting paint.

Burdar

Barn burned down right after the car was finished.  They brought it to the Nats anyway and got a lot of attention.  It still ran.  Has it been restored?

Man I don't like that new format.... no dates when it was posted?

Yeah, caught me by surprise as well. So it was a 2 pronged approach posting just now.
