OK Here goes - looking closer at the picture I believe it is the earlier 908 with the model who is probably a decent height ! I would definatly get into the cheaper one !
these cars were simply amazing roughly 1600 lbs with 1000 hp & TINY
I believe the car in the second picture / the 917/30 developed with Donohue is still the most powerful racecar ever built with 1600 lbs & 1400 available HP , it set the close course lap record with an average speed of 233 mph & stood for years !
The first pic shows how small these cars really were against a relatively small BMW & Mark Donohue in the #6 Lola .
This 2nd picture will give you an idea , the top of the front tire is Knee height on the Mechanic
the cars were really that low

I've had five people on mine at one time....the best was when a track photographer asked if he could put a model up there (in heels) she proceeded to spin around and walk across the trunk lid to get off the car :o.....I just shook my head.... :crying:

No doubt plastic surgery prices have come way, way down, but also the food these girls have grown up on over the last has 25-30 years has more chemistry in it that promotes earlier and more pronounced development. Much like the hormones to make cows and pigs grow more so they produce more meat, all that chemistry is passed though milk, cheese, meats, etc and impacts everyone who ingests it.

CA used to stamp plates with the year the series started. These black plates started in 51. The next plates started in 56 and were yellow with black letters and are stamped 56. Stamping the starting year of the series stopped with the next plates that were Black with Yellow letters.

Shay Nichols. That brings back some memories. She was from Abilene, Texas. Family had big money and she loved cars. Her husband, Phil, was the wrench along with Shelby Jester. He had a Hemi Barracuda and they campaigned both together. Shelby's wife was looker as well. She was always around the pits in hot pants. They bought both cars to high school one day in probably 73 or 74 for car club day. Last car Shay drove that I saw was 75 Dart P/S. Her and Phil divorced and they got out of racing. He still lived here until a year go. He passed away. Nice guy and love cars as well. He could talk about building and racing Hemi cars for hours.

I see your having the same problem I noticed tonight. The site seems to be acting strange when posting.
I tried to post a few pictures and it gave me an error message.
I tried again and it said I had already posted the photo's, but nothing showed up for my 2nd batch of pictures.
I think someone might have to look into this odd behaviour.
I am not sure what is going on , I am working on a really slow computer , my good one quit , sometimes I just get black screen , sometimes the pictures post but it does show that it has posted , not sure if it si the site or my old computer !!
