Title: Club shirts
Post by: cuda hunter on July 20, 2022, 12:42:07 PM
During Carlisle this year, while talking about ebodies to everyone I was asked at least a dozen times where they could get the ebodies.org shirt that I was wearing every day.  All I could say was that they were a limited run and they aren't available but I mentioned to each person that I would make a thread about a second run of the shirts.

I saw a few of the club shirts in the swap.  Each one was pretty stained up.  Mine has holes in them.   I'm in need of replacement.

Is there any chance that we could do the shirts again?

I love the cuda' shirt.  Maybe we could do that in a few colors with ebodies.org somewhere on the shirt as well.  Otherwise, the standard ebodies shirt that takes the place of everyone's "mopar" shirts would be nice.   I would have to buy more than 3 this time.

Any chance of this?

Count me in if another run is made. My ebodies shirt has gone on every vacation since I got it. Including Cuba and Mexico. Mexicans know what an ebody is, Cubans...not so much. Generated a lot of conversation in Houston a couple years ago.

Well, there is 12 sold so far.

I know they were offered before as bonus's for posting on the site.
I'd be glad if I had to buy them just the same.

Another run of shirts is possible for sure.  I'll look in to the printer guy I used the first time and see if he can do another run.  It might take me a little bit of time, but if things work out the club might be able to cover some of the costs.   :drinkingbud:

I would love to have one, or more!
My preferences (if you're taking a poll):
   * Prefer grey; then blue; then white; lastly black
   * I'd want both Challenger & Cuda on it, if only one I'd buy the Challenger
   * Love the org name on the sleeve (or maybe put Challenger and/or Cuda there)
   * I'd also buy a polo style, for when I "dress up"
I know that sounds picky, but I'd buy anything you come up with  :bigthumb:

PS: I'd buy a hat too!

The website designation on the sleeve is super cool!   I like that and it calls out the site for those who are paying attention to the shirt.  Especially since the graphic is so simple on the shirt.

I have a cuda one, I'll see if I can get a picture posted up.

What about a service like printify?
I have not used them but have heard about them.

https://printify.com/custom-t-shirts/

Use printify for ad-hoc production and shipping. Looks like the international members can get shirts too.
Connect printify to a marketplace store like Etsy or WIX to handle the transactions.
Provide the marketplace link on the forum.
Members shop using the approved designs on the approved shirts, hats etc.

Yes, I won't be going to Carlisle, etc. so will need mine shipped (which I'd expect to fully pay for).

Maybe first step is a poll to narrow down design & colors. Then an order/commitment sign-up to confirm quantities. I'm not sure how I can help out but willing to offer.

Yes, I have all the artwork and if anyone wants to take on the project I would be happy to work with them.  All I ask is that we keep the price at cost so it's as affordable for as many as possible.  We gave the originals away for free, but they were not free.  Dave at Roseville was the one that covered the cost of them with his sponsorship so they would not cost us anything.

I still wear my shirt and it's really showing its age.  The hard part is not getting the shirts made, it's taking the time to ship them.

There is a lot to think about to make this happen . .

Color
Sizes
Shipping

How many do you make?  If you do three colors, then you need different sizes in each color.  How many of each size do you make?  Do you make kids shirts?  Hats?

Then the shipping, the US is one thing but the customs forms for exporting would be extremely time consuming and a pain in the ass.   Packaging would be a pain as well.

Thinking about this though . .

So, lots of people want a shirt or three.
What we seem to be missing is someone who can organize the orders.
That is a special talent that is required to be paired with someone with time.
I just don't have time for it.  I'm literally 12-14 hours a day at work and exhausted after.

Is thee anyone who can pick up that challenger?  Organization and Ordering?

:iagree: except there certainly wouldn't be any bulk savings if each member wanting a shirt would have to order his own one/two at a time  :dunno:

why not someone front some cash....order 20-30 shirts all large, all the same colour, and sell them at our tent in Carlisle...or even a few different sizes...just keep it simple.. :dunno: if you're not going to Carlisle...have a buddy pick you up one  :grouphug:

I would buy a few of these also .
I did a project similar to this a few years back and possibly could help out with getting this done .
The hardest part for me would be collecting the money and shipping them . The apparel i did before was shirts i sold out of my race car trailer right at the race tracks so shipping wasn't an issue .
I also DO NOT have a PayPal account as they took me for 1300.00 bucks on a fraudulent transaction so getting pd would require a personal check or money order .
Any thoughts on this ?  I could give him a call Monday and get a time estimate and pricing if we are still interested .

Late to the game, but also interested. I think we should make a poll with the options and sizes to gauge SERIOUS interest, then we can get an idea on cost for a bulk order to save some money. I am usually at Carlisle so I'd be willing to bring a lot of them there

I agree about discounts, and shipping will also likely be a big hit if 1-2 at a time from the maker.

I think we all need to understand not everyone & everything can be satisfied. I think delivering to Carlisle or other meet makes sense though I won't likely be there. It is what it is.

If we do a bulk order and want to provide shipping using something like PirateShip will save a lot. My wife uses it for her craft stuff and prices are frequently 50% less (for USPS or UPS).

I'm willing to help with something though I've no experience.  :dunno:

:alan2cents: Unfortunately, I guess I have just become accustom to paying shipping charges.  I think the increase in shipping charges over time is both ridiculous and way too high just like most people but (at least for me) if I can get shirts with a design that I like and more importantly, actually get them in a size that fits me (not just having to wear what is available, S, M, L, XL, XXL ect.) . . . I am always more than happy paying for shipping of said items.
Title: Re: Club shirts
Post by: chaps70rt on May 14, 2023, 05:48:47 AM
I agree Claudia ......shipping costs are what they are.

Although it is nice to think that a sponsor should help off-set the cost of the shirts, perhaps we just need to pay the true cost of the shirts including
the handling to ship?

I am willing to pay $30 per t-shirt plus the shipping via Mail.   Does that help cover the cost of handling for someone to own the packaging and mailing of the shirts??   What is the true cost per shirt to have these made with a decent quality cotton (ie. Hanes)??

I will ask my screen printer that does my company t-shirts what he would charge to produce.   I think I pay about $20/t-shirt and they are quality shirts.

Whoever has the designs, let's get them up on an ordering site and get quotes. I would be willing to organize a bulk order and either bring them to Carlisle for pickup or arrange to ship them to you for whatever that cost is

I liked a couple of the designs, I'm willing to buy one. I think there are places you can submit the design to and have people order their shirts from there. I think. The price per shirt may be a bit more but then no one is on the hook for ordering shirts and getting stuck with extra. However we get it working, I am interested in a shirt.

Thinking about this though . .

I would be interested in a couple shirts as well.  As for how many / sizes etc., a friend of mine turned me on to this site a couple years back and I think the model they use is the way to go:
Just so happens Mopar is the shirt of the day!  The way they do it is a design comes out and is available to buy for a period of time, usually 24hrs. so if you want one you have to buy in the window - you select size and pay up front and I would guess once the sale window closes they place the order with a few extras for warranty purposes.  It usually takes 3-4 weeks to get the shirts, but I like the idea that it is pretty custom, and it is fun to check out the designs each day.

https://www.blipshift.com/

I think we should post some designs, set a voting period, and once voting closes open a sale like on blipshift; once it closes place the order with a preselected vendor.  I am sure we could figure out how to host a buying page where people could choose size and then checkout.  Once the Sale window closes we can place an order.  :alan2cents:

I think the issue could be solved. My almost 21 year old son (that's been to Carlisle) is a business major and has some great computer design skills has agreed to head this up as a fill in for his summer life guard job. He could possibly duplicate the shirts already in my possession as well as create several other designs, color options, direct shipping etc. I've reached out to @Cuda Cody (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/cuda-cody_1) for permission to use logos and previous designs in addition to others he put together on his computer last night. I was impressed. With feedback from this thread as well as hearing back from Cody, he could get started almost immediately. Let's hear it.

:fingerscrossed: @7E-Bodies (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/7e-bodies_436) . . . do you know if we will be able to order specific sizes (like a 3XLT) from the shirt designs that will eventually be available?
Title: Re: Club shirts

That's the intent. My son was waiting on permission from Cody to use the logos. Now that I've obtained that as of today, he can start working on putting this all together. It's pretty complicated to me, but he's pretty savvy at organizing this stuff. I guess my tuition money is going for something  :woohoo:
More will come as he moves forward. I'll be sure to put up a thread if he succeeds and it all becomes ready.

@cuda hunter (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/cuda-hunter_176) (and all others interested) I fully agree on higher quality shirts. My son has it down to a final couple of suppliers. He favors a brand that supplied his football team with boosters shirts a few years ago in high school. We are now down to getting a few samples run off to verify quality and then issue a general message to all members, both here and on the Facebook side. I'm hoping we'll have things ready in the next week or two. He's come up with a few extra shirt designs using the group logos that @Cuda Cody (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/cuda-cody_1) submitted to him, as well as a cool hat design. Of course the original weathered look design will be available as well, with the added touch of being available in multiple colors. Stay tuned.

Just an idea, but there are places like this out there that'd take the hassle out of shipping/handling.

I like having an option like this available as well.  I don't wear t-shirts so would want button down and don't mind paying the price for one-offs like that.

Ok all, after a ton of work (he fought with some coding issues trying to make selections simpler to view and item displayed to change color as selected), he has cleared me to make a "beta" purchase (test) to verify quality and fit. I just did. He favored the gilden brand (we'll see if that's what actually ships) because it's USA made, high quality and that's what his football team and boosters used. Keep in mind THESE ITEMS SHIP DIRECTLY FROM THE PRINTER/SUPPLIER AND NEITHER HE NOR I WILL EVER LAY HANDS ON THEM. My order was flawless and easy and I chose the free shipping option which was also very intuitive. He's most concerned about the traditional weathered/stressed logo like we all had before because he had to do a lot of digital work on it one pixel at a time since he didn't have a pre made digital original to go from. I know a lot of you want to get things before Carlisle, so I'm hoping for a quick arrival on my test order. He really doesn't want anyone disappointed or mad at me. Hit me with your thoughts. I plan to post the link as soon as my order arrives. He designed cuda specific and challenger specific on most items. I'll attach a few screenshots. So far, it's amazing. @Cuda Cody (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/cuda-cody_1)

First bug detected. The invoice on my $82 order (several items for beta test) showed up in my inbox with no sales tax added. It whacked his account for that. He will dig into that when he gets off work today.

OK, all...
I made the "beta test" order from the site my son built and will make a new thread saying something like "E-bodies apparel and accessories can now be ordered". I'll place the following pictures there as well, as well as a note from my son.
I ordered a T-shirt, a hoodie (both in black) and a license plate frame. The apparel that I got was true to my size (XL) and seemed very good quality. The shirt and the hoodie arrived 9 days after order was placed on the site. I didn't think that was bad at all for being a customized order. License plate frame showed to have come out of China and took 12 days, he couldn't find a way around that. This is going to take some patience on the part of members ordering as this is the first time he's tried anything like this and has spent countless hours on it. There will be more kinks to iron out as we go, possibly with orders outside of the continental US. There's still some trouble on his end with getting the site to automatically charge the recipient's proper state tax. We shall see.

An update from my son (Canadian ordering problems might be fixed now, too)

Hi all,

Thank you all for your support so far! I apologize for the issues encountered with international shipping. I am pleased to announce that both Australia and Canada have now been added to our shipping zones. If your country is not listed, please reach out to me through the website, and I will gladly include it for you. Hopefully, everything proceeds smoothly (let me know if it doesn't).

I hate to say it, but I wanted to inform you that shipping costs do slightly go up outside of the United States. As said before, we are working on a solution for the near future. Shipping delivery times may be a bit longer too, depending on where you are buying from. I just wanted to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to use the website.

Next, I want to mention that upon request I have added a new t-shirt design to the website! This is the same design as you see on the sweatshirts but now in the t-shirt form as well. Both in the Challenger and Cuda options along with many colors and sizes.

I am currently working on a solution for big/tall-size options for those of you that were interested. This one is going to be difficult so I can not make any promises. I am going to have to find an entirely different company to work with to fulfill this request. So far, I have received a good amount of feedback. I am doing my best to get to everyone's requests. All are very important to me, but I have to prioritize some over others. Don't worry, I will get to everyone eventually.

You all have been awesome thus far, and I am going to continue working on fulfilling everybody's needs.

Thanks,
Brayden

@Claudia (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/claudia_139) make sure to reach out to him through the website he built if there's any issue or hold-ups. They can take up to a week or more since they're made to order. Mine all have and I've ordered 5 items at different times, including the beta test he and I did for my first order.
I'm glad to see at least a small uptick in orders as the expenses haven't been outweighing the interest. The associated affiliations were all wanting paid. At the previous pace, he wasn't sure how long he'd keep funding the site since he's a college kid working on a business degree and working a part time minimum wage job while studying. He's doing summer courses as well.
