I follow Gas Monkey on Instagram and they had posted yesterday that they had found 3 Challengers. Cool thing is they videoed it on their phone and uploaded it.

Seems kinda shady somehow.... :('
38 for all 3? Felony theft. 20 each on the flip. Hopefully they don't get butchered.
Yea that was likely a good deal for GMG
Much like the pawn shop show, I think people sell things at a lower price than they normally would when they know they'll be on TV. I don't understand it, but they want their 15 minutes of fame even if they end up losing money.
:iagree: but you'd think Richard would want to inflate the price he shows on TV so he can ask for more....but then again I bet the fools line up in droves to buy a car from him :drunk:

I mean the guy was asking for 60k initially but also didn't seem all there either.
I think alot of it is staged. :alan2cents:
Those 2 guys on the Antiques driving around were caught staging their finds and buys.

At first they weren't, I remember them coming to my town to some guys junk yard... I believe when ratings started to tumble is when it became staged.
Already up for sale.
Of coarse they are for sale. Flipping cars is the whole point of the show. Most people ask much more than they really want in the first place. That poor seller had smoked some ho haws in his day, I bet! I'm kind of weird. I ask what I want for a car most of the time and get more interest. Of coarse someone always tries to get it cheaper. Remember that he had to pay a $10,000 finders fee on top of the $38,000.

If it`s on TV believe non of it! Even if those numbers are real ($10k finders fee?) he has over $50k in them by the time he tows them back to the shop and cleaned up and running, still a good deal though.
Its all stage
:iagree: It's a TV show, not real life.

Are you telling me GENIE never came out of a bottle either?
Well there are deals out there.
I might be scoring a 67' Pontiac Gran Prix in excellent condition for really cheap.
Find out around 3rd week of Sept. :handshake:
To bad someone didn't find them before Rawlings. They should have gone to a more deserving owner or shop as far as I'm concerned.
:iagree:

I agree! Still trying to figure out where in Texas this occurred, albeit too late.

Hopefully the cars won't end up defiled.

I don't have a problem with someone buying cars to flip for a profit....that's "The American Way" (Canadian too)....
Someone more deserving will get them, they'll just have to pay more money... :takemymoney:

The Grease Monkey mentioned Bridgeport. NW of the DFW area
In Today's internet world......everyone has a level playing field and knows what these are worth within reason. Its a show and if he found 1 car and paid full price no one here would be talking about it.
All these shows and auctions have figured out that its not about the car ....its about the story, the hype. I think most of us, on this site, if we found an incredible car wouldn't be advertising it on a show for the whole world to see....at least I wouldn't.
I just watched a show where Richard bought the Mr. Norms van then sold it and lost money ? :dunno: So win some lose some
Wondering what that seller was on. Now he's got money to get some more of it.

:haha:  Good one!
Negotiating while holding the zippered bank bag full of money always gets the job done.. With no time for the seller to have remorse...Amazing how knowing the cash will soon hit your hand will motivate the seller...
$38k will probably equate to an overdose.

Exactly! Wait for the after death side story where his relatives sue him for taking advantage and ultimately enabling his death.
In case anyone may have wondered what happened to them. All were sold to https://www.restoreamusclecar.com/ curious for what though haha.
Edit: that company has one of them for sale https://www.restoreamusclecar.com/vehicles/725/1971-dodge-challenger

Actually all three are for sale per their inventory with a "call for price".
Pretty quick to use the GMG name in their advertising :haha: :haha:
Nice looking car, $45k seems ambitious.
What is it really worth? I'm thinking $25-30k max
