Okay...for those of you that attended...WE WANT PICTURES !!!
I want to see pictures from the top of the bleachers showing the swap meet and show field. I want to know how many AARs/TAs are there....I want to see inside the buildings....I want it all :takepicture: :takepicture: :takepicture: :takepicture: :takepicture:
:needphotos:

:needphotos:
:needphotos:
Jeff was hoping for 125 AAR's/TA's, only 52 were expected to be there. I know of a survivor B5 TA that is in the show program that won't be there. Expect a lite turnout.
I wish I was there with my T/A. For the last 3 years I've told myself I will be there this year! But when sheet hit the fan in March it threw my planning off the tracks as far as figuring out how to get my car there, plus my work cut pay 15%, side job grounded for 2 months etc, it just wasn't meant to be. :crying: :headbang:
Somehow I'll get the T/A there for the 55th anniversary!
Looking forward to seeing pictures. :takepicture:
YES!!! I need to see some photos. P-L-E-A-S-E share some pics everyone. :drinkingbud:
I've been going for years but didn't because of Covid and my daughters low immune system. I'm really curious to see how many actually showed up. I hope it was a great turnout.
Ill have pics and video
Here are a few. Still filling in.
Our lonely tent.....
That is a lonely looking tent. :unbelievable:
Wish I was there to enjoy the festivities. Have fun all.
next year they should do a 1970 50th anniversary "do-over" combined with the 1971 50th anniversary for a mega double-header block buster show!!
I'll be up there at 7 AM tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how many people and cars show up. I'm thinking it will be a good showing.
I'll take pictures.
I have been hanging with the fcbo crew since there are no ebodies.org guys around.
Thought i saw spike dog go through. Does hr have the black 72?

Yes. And it should be really loud because he has a crazy modified engine in it.

I'd like a do over of this whole year, can we call 2021 2020 and get back the year we mostly lost?

Yeah that is about the truth! Wish it was a normal year . . We packed that tent last year!
Hurricane's, Floods, Heat Spells, Rain.
Ya seen it all! ::)
But the show must go on! :unitedstates:
Found these fish in a parking lot.
Bad ass rides !!
Isnt this 2019? Try again next year for 2020. I'm sure you will still have a great time with the members that make it there
Nice article about Mr. Norm Vander Veen and his 1970 Challenger T/A:
https://www.dodgegarage.com/news/article/owners-clubs/2019/01/long-term-relationships-the-one-that-didnt-get-away-chapter-4.html
"Vander Veen": Sounds like a Dutch family name! ;)
Weather is cooperating!
Less than half full?!
Even at half full it's still one of the best shows. Wish I was there with everyone.
It's still early...lets see Saturday afternoon pictures....How's the swap meet or the buildings ?
There was a threat of rain today,so I expect a more normal crowd tomorrow.
Our tent is HUGE!
Here's our space at L155/L156. Thursday was poor, but today (Friday) was our single best selling day comparing 2018, 2019 and 2020!
That's kinda what I was thinking, if there less vendors, that means more business for the ones that are there ...that's great news
Gotta pay to play.
The guy with the daytona wing also has an nos vert quarter for 15k.
Is it that "Little Detroit" guy from West Virginia? He seems to be in a competition with GLNOS as to who can ask the most outrageous prices!
I thought vendor turnout was 80% which is higher than I expected. I did fine selling parts as the traffic was flow was pretty good. Did not view too many cars yet. Weather today very nice with cool breeze.
Another Hurricane trash heading up?
They need to move the dates. Period!
I was there during one they had, and a Beetle attacked me. :bricks:
I was selling stuff so didnt get too much time to walk around til later.

Have fun everyone and be safe. I hope to make it next year as at the last minute my wife found out they would not let her off work so we did not make the 12 hour drive out. Looks like a better turn out than what everyone thought there would be.

A few more from Carlisle. Media star CudaGirl (who graciously posed with her car for me), me with Motown Missile's Ted Spehar, my red '68 Hemi RR (my '70 V code Cuda is still a project!), the red '70 Hemi Cuda on the main grandstand stage, and little 'Axle' whose human family had a survivor AAR. Wore my mask & had a great time with two of my brothers! Submitted on I-phone so hopefully right side up!
This hemi challenger sounded so good. Road runner for days and me by a 69 charger

it's a shame they didn't have "daddy long legs" AKA: Sport Fury GT on stage with the rest of the '70 Rapid Transit System :foul:
I believe this is the "green" 'cuda in question :dunno: what hood is on this car?
there was, at a time, a "FAKER" 1-piece fiberglass hood available & there have been some bubbles "bonded" to the hood over the decades
I think its a fake shaker

Here is a question I have. I got my door skins from stephensperformance and I was talking to one of the guys that work there. He said alot of the cars are fake/clone of the real deal. I wonder how true it is

Funny, I didnt even notice the shaker in the hood. I was too busy lookin at the braces where the hood springs go. Glad someone else got a photo of that.

The amazing this is, we as a club had the 3rd most entrants at 38. Now, of those that actually came to the the show and made it to the tent of those 38, maybe there were a dozen or so of us. We had the biggest tent ever. Plenty of room for social distancing. :D
It was fun. I can tell you that.

Anyone know what color this car is? It wasn't listed on the plaque

Oh yes I do. It's gold metallic FY4. I only know this because I'm FB friends with the owner.
It was nice to meet you at the tent this year.
Cool thanks. Nice color if you ask me. Nice meeting you as well.

This '72 listed an interior trunk release. I never heard of this before. Was this added by a previous owner? Custom job with parts from another car? I asked the owner and he said the car had it when he bought it but he was not the original owner. He said the button was in the console compartment. It is about as factory as the red interior is :alan2cents:
That 70s van was cruising around the grounds with the side door open...With smoke rolling out !!! Turns out he had a smoke machine puffing smoke every few feet..
Did anyone else get the limited production van from the show ???
Thanks for sharing pictures. Really enjoyed all of them!!! :bradsthumb:
That's a great shot of the interior of my 'vert. Thanks!!!!! :bravo: :bravo: :bravo:
I'm super excited to see so many great cars were there (thanks for sharing the photos). Glad everyone that was able to make it had plenty of space to be safe and I'm very happy the show was not cancelled.

Looks like lots of room in the tent. How many forum members showed up?
The amazing this is, we as a club had the 3rd most entrants at 38. Now, of those that actually came to the the show and made it to the tent of those 38, maybe there were a dozen or so of us. We had the biggest tent ever. Plenty of room for social distancing. :D
It was fun. I can tell you that.
I had registered, but did not go, and told Ed that I did not want to get a refund . My entry letter actually showed up in th mail on Friday, so it would have been late, it took three weeks in the mail, Canada Post is hopelessly backed up...

We would always make the best of it .. just the way us ebodies.org members roll! But needless to say . . The weekend was amazing! Weather was great as it never did rain although it poured at the hotel . . The breeze was there most of the time and the temps were manageable. We were down over a 1000 cars easy but still a nice turnout that kept you entertained. The company was amazing! Dinner on Friday was satisfying . . Lunch in Saturday was real good and then the pizza party was a relaxing end to a great show. No complaints from me . . We even won a banner for the 3rd highest members cars that registered. See below . . Need to decide as a club what we should do with it?
Worth the trip every year!

Noticed I wrote ''registered''?... :D

Did anyone get a picture of that Blue Convertible Challenger in the car corral?
Thank You everybody for posting pics. It is a great way for us who could not go get our MOPAR Fix.

@TONY (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/tony_147) @69BFan (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/69bfan_401)
Tony, Richard, could you please give us a detail report of your thoughts of the show from a seasoned veteran vendor standpoint.
How was foot traffic ?
Were people buying ?
Were your sales up, down or the same as last year ?
Were there less vendors, meaning better sales for you ?
How was the show over all ?
How was foot traffic ? Average, the past few years people have said traffic was down, it may look that way, but a few years ago Carlisle increased the size of the vendor area, therefore spreading out the people
Were people buying ? yes!!!!!!
Were your sales up, down or the same as last year ? best ever!!!
Were there less vendors, meaning better sales for you ?
i felt about 80+% full, so down alittle
How was the show over all ?
i dont leave my spot on friday or saturday, its work
thanks to everyone for the support!!
That banner should be with the guy who paid for the tent!!!! Or maybe the guy who feeds everyone. :veryexcited:
I vote for Cody's garage also. Without his time and effort not of this would happen.
That's GREAT to hear Tony, thank you for your reply :drinkingbud:

I had registered, did not go, and was told no refunds.
Maybe no refunds....but if you called and told them you could not make it,
you got your same spots for 2021 Paid in full.
I asked for a letter from Carlisle Productions confirming that and received it last week.

Excellent narrative!! A HUGE bonus for me when the poster gives a little description of who or what is in the pictures they're posting. Well done IndyTom!! :bravo: :woohoo: :thankyou:

 Since it's a "team" award ... perhaps someone should be made a "custodian" of them and they should be displayed at shows by hanging them from the frame-work of the "team" tent??

That is a very good looking and extremely clean car! I'd rock that for sure!
I made it alright! drove all day Tuesday, slept at a truck stop for a few hours tuesday night and then drove the rest of the way to carlisle Wednesday. Didn't get in early enough to walk the vendors field Wednesday so I slept instead. walked the vendors field all day Thursday, picked up a few parts that day. Friday I walked the vendors most of the day with a few trips into the show field to the club tent. Saturday I spent less time in the vendors pits and enjoyed the cars with a few fellow org members. Sunday I spent the morning mostly in the vendors pits looking for cheaper parts and was successful in scoring a few things for cheap. Hung out with Rich G and his wife Mary on the show field. That's one stunning car they built this last year. jf1.
Then I left at about 1 P.M. drove all evening and into the late night, rested for a little while at a truck stop and drove the rest of the way home Monday.
I really had hoped to go see the parts stash from oldmanmopar on abodiesonly but he just wouldn't give me a phone number or address so he lost several thousands of dollars from me. unfortunate really. I would have spent an extra day there just to go to his parts stash.
On the way home I bought this instead of ebody parts .........
I did 90 m.p.h. the entire way. Avoided one really close accident and had blinding rain in Pennsylvania, Virginia and Ohio. Only got flipped off twice. And that was when I was back in Colorado really hauling ass.
Pretty good uneventful trip.
A few pics of the drive.

Hey glad you made it home safe. That's a long drive.
Where did you pick up the barracuda?? Sweet! Did it come with anything else? (fenders, hood, engine?) Or maybe you bought it for sheet metal?
I will leave out the fender tag pictures so as not to bore everyone. If someone wants to see s specific one I might have it, just ask.
I don't like yawning cars, but then I can't get the fender tag info to decode. So I wish Friday's the hoods would all be open and Saturday's all the hoods would be closed. That's my opinion anyway.

Somewhere between 26 and 28 hours driving. I'm 44 so I don't care for it. I did it alone this year. couldn't talk any of my friends into it. Maybe next year I can talk someone into it. Being in Colorado, I have to drive long distances to go anywhere. So driving is not a big deal. However, I speed everywhere so that I can make up some of that thing we call time. Every second is valuable and speeding is about the only way i've figured out how to make up some of it in my life.
I talked to about half a dozen vendors that are usuals at the show. They all told me the sales this year had beat any previous year they had vended. Attendance was down, car count was down but people were ready to buy.
I didn't buy one ebody part. Lots of A body parts and a few B body parts but didn't find one ebody thing I was after. Well, that was a reasonable price anyway.
It was nice to finally meet some of the people on this site. So much to see and do but I really got to make it to some of the lunches and dinners with you guys and gals!
It was my first Carlisle showing a car and I was very excited to have my TA there for the 50th!
Met a lot of nice E body owners and surprisingly didn't buy one part...lol.
It was about a 8.5 hr drive towing the TA. I'd do it again, fun times.
Which T/A was yours ?
@anlauto (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/anlauto_19) Alan sorry for a late response, but just now getting the chance to sit down and look over the messages and emails. The truck is unloaded and approximately 80% of the product is back on the shelf and still working on the inventorying.
In regards to you questions in regards to the Swap Meet side of the event, it is very difficult to compare this year to previous years. I would say that overall foot traffic was down by 40 to 50%. Thursday foot traffic which is usually a big day for us, but only had one prearranged sale on that day. Very few people out checking for the potential finds that Carlisle is known for and it was very HOT. Did talk to one NOS parts vendor on Thursday afternoon and he told me that he did find several good pieces.
It seemed that several vendors subleased or gave their spaces to other individuals so that they could get some use out of them. I know of several guys who showed up after missing the past couple of years.
As for as sales, our numbers were down approximately 16%. Credit card sales on Saturday vs. Friday was up almost 81%, so people was running low on money by Saturday or they had spent all of the cash money on Friday.
I was pleased that I was able to cover the cost of the event. I was very worried going into the event that we could possibly not even cover our cost. Thankfully, we did turn enough volume. With just the two of us, we did bring basically the same product and volume levels as previous years. Some product was left on the truck and some people may have walked off as we were very busy on Friday from 9:30 till 1:00. Friday afternoon stayed constant throughout the time. Saturday was very manageable for the two of us and was the busiest from about 10:30 til 12:30. By 2:00 PM on Saturday, vendors were already loaded and heading for the gates.
Vendors like Mega Parts, Vans, TNT, DMT, FDC, Jeff Deuchtman, Just Mopar and others did not attend. Basically the reproduction vendors were Stephens AMD, ECS, RT Specialties, Herb's, Layson's, Tony's and ourselves. So the reproduction vendors were down by by approximately 60%. Had everyone showed up, then I would say that all of us reproduction vendors would have seen a huge hit in the sales department due to the smaller attendance.
I did not factor in the sales from the Dale's product line as this is the first year of having that product. But have to say that the spoilers and exhaust hardware sold very well. I was very shocked at the amount of the Early A-Body product that we sold. The 68 to 70 B-Body product line has been slowing over the past two years and it was even slower this year.
Like most vendors / manufacturers, sales prior to the show have been at record levels and many of them decided it was not worth the efforts and cost to attend. I feel that this trend may well extend over into the years to come. I have to say that the weather turned out very good for a change as Friday was overcast for most of the day and Saturday had more sun, but a good breeze.
Thanks for all of those who attended and supported us. A number of people stopped in and said thanks for coming out and supporting the event. So hopefully, we can see more of you guys over in Columbus next month for The Nats!!!
Richard, thank you VERY MUCH for your detailed insiders report. It's very interesting getting an inside look from a vendors perspective :worship: :drinkingbud:
From our small vendor slot, final tally showed our sales were up 20% versus 2019.
I wish vendors would put a little sign of who they are and their user name if they are on this site. I always walk the swap meet constantly and other then a few or the big vendors I have no idea who I'm buying from or talking to.
Glad to give all yal a taste of the show that didn't/couldn't show up.
Hope you can come up next year!
Mr. Lee - when did you get those nighttime photos?!? They look so cool! Did we see you at the tent? Your screenname doesn't ring a bell. Awesome pics!

My brother and I were at the tent for lunch (we were sitting on the cooler) but were mostly manning the post at our vendor spot in row P so, we weren't around much. Cuda hunter was parked in our neighboring spot and we got to hang out a bit which was cool.
I just finished my Challenger like a week before the show (you might have seen it on here, its a '70 F4 green, gator grain top car) but it wasnt 100% ready to make the long drive out to PA. Anyway, i brought a van load of leftover parts to sell and got rid of all of the big stuff so i was happy to go home with a light load. Despite the drop in attendance I'd say it was a successful two days of selling. Probably my fourth time as a vendor in the past 15 years and its been good selling each time.
The night time photos - thank you! (iPhone pics) ... Yeah, it was a pleasure to walk around at dusk when the sun wasn't so hot and nobody in your way to take pics... even though there weren't many cars left by that time. Those were from Friday. We camped out there overnight so after most people left for the day, we were walkin' around. It made for some good picture taking
A few pics of my car that didn't quite make the show this year. Hopefully next year.
