What is the correct Cuda 440 shaker hood upper radiator hose with 26" radiator?
Wouldn't radiator size play a part too?
22 inch radiators were standard on 440 and 440-6 cars with a 727 and 3.23 gears.
The original poster mentioned 26" and the two samples I listed were 26" as well, but you're 100% correct 22" equipped U/V code cars use a totally different hose :bigthumb:
Yep I see it he did mention 26inch radiator. I got too far down reading the replys and looking at the hose numbers.
:drunk:
So I found this 1970 440+6 BCS on the ol' interweb.....It has N96 as well and uses #2863257 upper hose :dunno:
Awesome info :worship:....Galen's book has the #3462113 hose only listed for 1970 426 HEMI, not anything else.... :dunno:
Now we need a correct chart that shows all combinations of shaker/no shaker, 22"/26" radiators, and the engine codes with the correct hoses as per the broadcast sheets. Unfortunately, it appears that not all hose numbers are available in repro so you may have to deviate from the broadcast sheet and go with what you can buy.
FYI - that chart earlier in the thread came from one of the E-body restoration books and is not reliable due to errors and omissions.

I had that book around for years & it's full of errors. I'll have to check my David Wise books.
& it's YELLOW!!!
This is so great, not only do I think we answered the original poster's question....we all learned a little in this thread too.....man I love this site. :grouphug:
Alan, the car is a N code four speed that I bought as a shell. It was B5 blue.I am dropping a 440 in it and adding a shaker hood.I am waiting for the motor to come back from the machine shop.Everything else is done.

after I made the post, I went thru your build thread again - I had seen them before but previously didn't know it was a FY1 N96 E86 car :wowzers: :drinkingbud:
If anyone is interested my 71 Cuda 383 original shaker with a 26" radiator shows a 57 for the inlet (upper) radiator hose on the broadcast sheet.
What's with all my pics posting sideways????

What is the VIN for your 1971 383 N96 Cuda? BS23N1B345740?
Yes. That's correct.
Thanks! I save fender tags, broadcast sheets, and other documentation for reference when anyone on the forum has questions about options. Every document adds another piece to the pie. Thank you for contributing to our hobby!
