sealer between fenders and aprons

What type of sealer do you use, in these area?  assembly manual shows some type of strip caulking over the J-clips but my original has a bead between:

The seam sealer was not a precision application, just like paint overspray. Just redo it like yours came. It squashes out under pressure. Just a gasket sealer really.

I guess I will put the bead of sealer down when I am ready to do the final fender adjustment.

I like the strip caulk as it stays flexible and doesn`t harden like seam sealer.

That's the stuff! It can also be used wherever another seam wants to be filled as well as any extraneous holes you may find. Keep the plastic cover on it and the box out of the light and heat and it'll last forever. I have a box I bought in the 70s still.

I agree with the strip caulk, we use it almost daily at the shop, it works great to wrap bumper/ tail lamps bolts etc to prevent water intrusion but may not squish much between the fender bolts/nuts.

Maybe I will set a fender on and see how much of a gap there is if any between the fender bolts..
