Clutch pedal return spring noise

I'm fine tuning the little things on my newly restored 73 challenger, and I'm noticing that the clutch pedal return spring is quite noisy, and makes that "springy" sound when the clutch is pushed in.
I would like to silence it so that there is no "sproing" when the clutch is pressed in; is there a trick to help with this?
I was thinking perhaps a touch of 3 in 1 oil on the coils?

Any tips would be appreciated!

Something a little thicker than 3in1 would be my choice and just at the pins on either end. Not all the coils.

My clutch pedal was very noisy, (creaking and popping) and no amount of lube worked.

I pulled the spring and discovered the pin was badly worn on the backside where I couldn't see it.
The spring was actually riding up off the pin when the clutch was pushed in.

Installed a new pin and all was quiet.

I don't think the spring would make noise just by expanding and contracting. It's probably one of the pin points. Or maybe there's something rubbing against the spring.
