Need help locating U joint

The groove for the retaining clips is in the wrong place. It need to be more outwards. You can see it in the picture in my first post.

From my 1984-85 Dodge truck parts book joint # 4030848 all 3 joints in the front driveshaft are the same
From my  Spicer u-joint parts book 5-1306X
it's a 7260 series joint cups should be 1.078 dia.
These fit from 1972 thru 1993 dodge truck front shafts, the only real difference in length was 4 speed trans or auto trans as most were 318-360 powered.
The diesel used the 7290 u-joint which is 1.126 dia
I found some personal hand written notes in the back of my spicer u-joint book that some Dodges with double joint shafts also used spicer# 5-3147x in the double joint location only.
I owned a 4x4 repair shop for 35 years so unless the shaft has been made up from something else this should solve your problem

@704406  I googled those numbers and the pics have the groove for the clip in the wrong place. I wonder if they just use generic pictures.

Originally your u-joint cups were held in place by injected plastic, and not the traditional clips.If you look closely at the "yoke" you'll see a corresponding hole where the plastic was injected into the grove in the u-joint cups.
The replacement u-joints will have the clip groove closer in towards the inside edge of the yoke, and the clips will install against the inside edge of the yoke, similar to the clips on the front u-joint which fit tight against the inside of the pinion yoke

Lacking something like this, I would have suggested that its a Dodge, therefore 7260 or 7290 joint. Then verify  inside or outside snap rings and the inside and outside dimensions on the yoke, and then search a spec table to find exact fit.
