 If I understand the description correctly, in one of my profile settings, I think the logic of the checkbox is backwards. 

Look and Layout -> Posting -> Return to topics after posting by default

When this setting is unchecked, after posting a reply on a topic, I'm redirected back to the primary forum topics page, showing all the topics under discussion.

When checked, after posting a reply, the browser stays on the current topic page.

MAYBE, if you drop the "s" on "topics" it will read:

Return to topic after posting by default

Tada, it's then fixed.  So maybe it's simply a typo?

That would be the correct description. When checked you will return to the current/active topic. When uncheck it returns you to the topic list.

I can see why one may misunderstand, but topics is correct. The way if I recall correctly that is to be thought of, is there are many topics. You want to return to the one topic of many that you just posted in. You do not want to return to the topic list.  So you are returning to topics instead of the topic list.

I personally think it could have been worded differently, but I get it. With SMF 3.0 being worked on that is something that could be looked into.
