Clutch Pedal Stiffener

Hey All,
How is the clutch pedal stiffener supposed to be finished? Body color? Black? Natural? Cadmium plated? What?
I have searched and can't seem to find anything about it or even pictures of the elusive bugger.

Excellent find @Bullitt-
If I'm understanding it correctly, the part #0680 is all years E body and should be zinc. The part #1125, which is B body up to '70 is body color. Am I seeing that correctly?
