Well......I lost my Challenger keys. I know they are somewhere around the House/Garage/Camp..but for a couple weeks now I haven't located them and my spare key..as it turns out...doesn't work.
So....I want a new key made and noticed a code written on the side of a spare lock cylinder I have on the shelf.
Is this a code for the key that fits it?

I can't answer as to the code on the lock cylinder, but would pull a door handle, remove the lock cylinder and take it to a locksmith. He should be able to read the tumblers and cut you a new key accordingly. When you've confirmed that it works, get him to cut at least two more copies and store them where they can be found. A PITA for sure and you know you'll find the old ones shortly after doing all this, right?  :bigthumb:

yes, there are key codes stamped on some lock cylinders - were your doors & ignition the same?  a door is easier to access.  I can cut keys to the code "EP" (Primary) ignition & doors and "ES" (Secondary) trunk & glove box/console

J @jimynick   Yes. After driving a half hour to a locksmith shop and talked to a young guy who said...'that lock cylinder looks older than me!' .
Then he said that EP code might mean something. So I came back here to ask the most knowledgeable ebody people. A little later in the day I noticed numerous views but no replies...So I turned the house upside down one more time..and...found them.
avatar_6bblgt @6bblgt Thank you very much for the reply, and I would have gladly hired your services but now have no need. Actually I don't know if the cylinder in the car has a code on it or not. I was going to disassemble the top of the column or a door later today if I still hadn't found them. The door locks are aftermarket from Roseville or Dale's (I think) so probably don't have the code on them? I remember modifying them to match my ign key a few years ago.
