- what color seat belts, who has a survivor?

a burnt orange interior could have come with burnt orange seat belts to match.
but black is a classic substitute, if you cannot find them in the burnt orange color.

Probably not much definitive help, but my FK5 with burnt orange interior vert November SBD has black seat belts.  I have a photo album the previous owner who restored it gave me which includes some "before" pictures from late 80s when it looks mostly original, barn find condition. One picture I can see a seat belt and it's black.
It's got deluxe seat belts not the standard ones.

Dan:
There is no such thing as Burnt Orange clasp seat belts for a 1970 E Body.  They only come in Burnt Orange if coded C15. There are only three interior clasp seat belt colours for 1970 E Bodies, black, green, blue. If your interior is green or blue, you would get the green or blue clasp belts, all other colours would get black clasp belts.

Owned my car since early 80s, I know the previous owner, and afaik everything is original -- my belts are black.

The dealer parts book suggests they were available in orange, and I seem to recall seeing a set at a swap meet, in days gone by, but I cannot say they were e-body belts.  they DID look dirty and ugly, as I recall.  black belts were pretty common in most e-body interiors.

thanks all for the confirmation!  they are standard belts & that's why there are no loose orange ones around - just BLACK!

Post a picture of that dealer book listing you refer to please. It will show that they were C15, deluxe, not standard clasp.

I'm not making the distinction between standard and deluxe, simply the color.  And you may be right, orange available only with deluxe buckle?

4749 is the part number for 1970 E Body front belts that are stored in the floor, on the left of the driver and right of the passenger front seats. They are the same for C15 deluxe belts, hence the orange, red, etc. colours listed besides the standard black, blue and green belts I mentioned above in this thread. We need to look at the belts unique to the C15 option for colours. I will do that for you.
Just remember, the four digit number on the right side of the parts book listing is the actual part number for all seat belts, the three digits after that refer to the belt colour.
The parts book listing of a seven digit number(in this case 2999 587), is not always reliable, or correct, when referencing to the seven digit number on the white label of each belt. In this particular case, the seven digit number is correct, usually it is NOT!
The four digit number on the right MUST be the number used in ALL cases.

These are standard black non-deluxe double front belts used on 1970 E Body hard top cars. See part number and seven digit number. As usual, the seven digit number is incorrect.

These are for the same application, but for deluxe C15 belts. This time the seven digit number is correct. Note the belt colours available.

Interior of my very original burnt orange.

The belts are black because they are not Deluxe ones, no C15 on the fender tag or broadcast sheet.
I have a FE5 on FE5 car, has the standard black clasp belts also.
