A little help from the collective would be appreciated.  I am in need of a Lt hand outside door handle pull. condition need to only be restorable.. I am going to send the components in for chrome plating.  mine was broken and I hate to buy a new repop one just for the door pull..   thanks      pic for referenceIMG_1963.jpg

I can't say I've ever seen just the pull sold, and not connected to the rest of the handle-pull assembly.  plenty are out there for sale as an assembly.

for those reading this, the common failure point on these handle assemblies is a stress crack, where the curved arm connects to the flat part of the handle pull. a spot where the handle is allowed to snap back into the assembly onto a little rubber bumper.  that bumper, wears out, in time.

when operators pull the handle, open the door, and allow the handle to snap back down... in time, a stress crack develops there, and... in time, the entire front flat part of the handle breaks off.

when at a swap meet, seeking handle assemblies, open that area up and examine the arm for a stress crack.  you will often find one there.  talk the guy down on his price, if you're still interested in the handle that may break, someday.

for those taking rides in other people's e-body, it is polite etiquette to NOT allow the handle to snap back, once the door open.  but instead, gently lower the handle back down until it rests in place.

for those restoring their cars, make sure that bumper gets replaced.  I believe it's the same bumper used at the glovebox door corners.

this has been a public service announcement.

hoping someone out there has one sitting around that was pulled off and not used in their rebuild     thanks

how much does it cost to have pot metal chrome plated?  I have thought for a long time, it's cost prohibitive, compared to purchasing a nice part.

I think it's all "brushed" metal, anyway, except for the frame bezel.

SRT392

So yes it will cost more however the ones you get repop have a curve in them for the challenger and are slightly off for the Cuda. The handle is the same. Yes the handle is brushed.  I have several Cuda housings so I'll send them out and get a good fit in the end.

so the cost is a secret. fine. how many handles you chroming in this batch?

SRT392

Not a secret. I'll let you know when the bill hits.  Any chroming now is terrible but it is what it is.  I'll be sending in 4.   2 rt and 2 lt

These are 'cuda, not Challenger handles

I know it's not what you are asking for but, I don't think there is going to be anybody with just the 'pull' part you are after.

I bought a pair of handles from Roseville years ago for the Challenger and was very impressed with the product. At the time they came from Dales Cuda Shop. I don't know if the current offerings are the same.

I was going to say, I know for a fact that both Cuda and Challenger styles are available for sale, you just have to look carefully. I bought a pair of the Barracuda ones for my 70 and they are an absolute perfect fit

Thanks to all that responded.  Looks like I have one on the way.   Thanks again for helping me finish this project up.
