Anyone attending any Route 66 events?

This is the 100'th Anniversary for Rt 66 and there are a lot of celebrations planned. Tulsa is approximately the midpoint and they are really going all out. They have been restoring a lot of historical sites and adding a bunch of new themed sites.

US Rt 66 Centennial Caravan, starts in Santa Monica and goes to Chicago with lots of stops

* June 12 the Hot Rod Power Tour is coming thru Tulsa, with a stop at the Tulsa Raceway Park for some racing

*** June 27 there is a Route 66 Road Fest has a huge parade planned in Tulsa and working hard to get a Guinness World Record!! They need over 2491 Classic cars/truck, 1996 or older, to break the current record (which interestingly is in Puerto Rico).

I live near OKC and I'm planning to drive up to Springfield, MO to meet the Power Tour stop on June 11 and will follow it to Tulsa for the 12th.

I am in the Chicago area, and now that I'm unemployed/retired will likely have no excuse not to participate in the kickoff of Power Tour at Rt 66 drag strip in Joliet, and thinking I'll follow the tour down to Rantoul for the second stop of it.
