Seam sealer? Weld? Lead? Body Filler? What was factory? Someone had been into these 70 Challenger quarters in the past (I replaced both with new AMD) so I don't have much to go on.

The 1972 Barracuda we have, I purchased new. It never had any work done in that area. I don't know if it is the same on Challengers. Where you show space, the area on the Barracuda is flush with no space between the two panels. It doesn't seem to have any seam sealer there, but it is a small area and it's hard to tell.

MIG it as best as you can, take a carbide bit on a die grinder to the weld and smear a bit of short strand fibreglass in there and you're done. Did just that on mine and no issues- yet!
