Has something recently changed, when referencing another user in a post with @Username?

It may be possible I am confusing the behavior of this site with other sites.  But when I want to refer to a user and draw their attention to the reference (much like tagging someone in a FB post) I use the @Username text.  This provides me a popup to select the user I want.  When I save the post, I no longer see their names as @Username, and instead, I think I see their avatar image, which is lesser intuitive to whom I am referencing.

avatar_pschlosser @pschlosser, the @ symbol used to work on this site.  Perhaps it's a forum preference option?

You're right it does not user the member name anymore.  It might be part of the new software update?

If you hover of the avatar will will show the user name.

test test. It seems to be working for me?

avatar_TwitchisMental @TwitchisMental  I think what the user was saying is that they liked the name being spelled out when they used the "mentioned" feature.  Since now it's changed to show the users avatar instead of being able to read their name.

If someone hovers over the avatar it will show the name.  Is there a way to make it show the name and not the avatar?  No biggie if not.  I think some people will change their avatars and others don't even have them so having the name spelled out is what I think most users are comfortable with. IS that what you meant avatar_pschlosser @pschlosser
