convertible top motor/pump

I hope you are still around for a question, just started having trouble with mine (70 E-body). I can hear is "whine" when I toggle the switch but the top does not go up, I can see fluid in the lines. I assume that means the pump part is not working but the motor is. I like not spending $100-$200 on a new one, could I just put new gaskets/o-rings on the pump side and leave the motor side alone? I don't see any leaks, but is it possible the fluid could just be low? I have never messed with this so any guidance would be great.

My convertible isn't on the road yet so I'm not much help with your question.  We have some convertible owners on this site that will be more help.  It does sound like low fluid though.  That's the first thing you should check.
