Anyone installed a Dakota Digital cluster? is it worth the money?. My cluster needs a lot of work and the reproduction gages are not cheap. I'm missing the light bar for my rally gages and they are selling for $300 plus.

Thanks in advance

once you get past having something genuine, vintage and original, this dakota setup is hard to beat.  it has several benefits, such as a real-time clock, bluetoooth, wifi, an OBD connector, and a modern look-and-feel, while still looking somewhat vintage.  if you take care and time installing it, many, won't even know it's not original.  is it worth the effort? heck yes, it is.  its cost matches or is better than an oem rallye cluster, and it looks better in the end.

I installed the RTX-70D-CLG-X set in my Challenger a few years ago and love it. Will be doing the same for the Cuda I'm putting together now. Really a no brainer in my opinion. Looks better than original. More functionality. Just cooler than anything they had back when these cars were built.

I think the Dakota gauges are a great alternative and I'm glad they're available, especially if doing a modified car. I guess I'm just getting old but to me one of the best things about owning an e-body is sitting behind the wheel with those pale green lights on over the rallye gauges. I think if I ever bought another car and it had the standard gauges I'd have to rip them out and change them to rallye. But it's crazy what costs are these days. I just got my gauges back from being restored, they look great but the total with new woodgrain bezels was more than I paid for the whole car, yes of course it was a very long time ago when I got it. I looked at the repop gauges and was tempted to try them but have heard of some issues so for me it was either Dakota or restored originals. In my case the car is going back to stock and then for me there's really only one choice, as much as it hurts.

FWIW I've heard of people using the standard dash light bars in a pinch and they'll work, especially if using LEDs.

Following along, I'd like to upgrade, but the cost is really holding me back.
Maybe selling my gauges could put a dent in the Dakota price.

I think they look really nice! If I didn't go the speedhut route I would consider these for sure!
