I am replacing my chrome (automatic shifter cover) at the console on my 1970 barracuda.
Can't find any help in the service manual.
How do I remove shifter ball from the shaft arm (ball will lift up BUT not come off the arm).
Do not want to force and break something in shifting unit.
Any help out there?

Thanks for the help

Did you get the set screw out that holds it to the shaft?

Try turning the button...i believe you have to unscrew it from a threaded rod in the shifter.

Yup, once the set screw is loose, turn counter clockwise  :alan2cents:

Yep, back the set screw out and unscrew the knob.  I'm working on my post count.  :'(
