Thinking of redoing the dash on the cuda since it`s far from a stock original car. I took out the console years ago so the only woodgrain is the dash panel and thinking of just going black with it. Anyone do a custom finish on their Rally dash, looking more for old school/stock look so no carbon fiber or anything?

Back in the 80's I scored a rally cluster out of a plum crazy Challenger in a wrecking yard.. The bezel had a desert mural airbrushed on it, lower part was hills, cactus standing between the outer gauges, keep on truckin man walking between the tach and speedometer & clouds along the top....

Sounds cool man but I`m not going that old school, just plain black I think.

Semi-gloss black would probably look ok. But how about using your cars exterior color ?

Katfish

The carbon fiber decals look nice, did my gauges, console and door inserts.

It's aluminum....it could be polished to a chrome like finish. :dunno:

The carbon fiber looks nice but not the look I`m going for. I thought about bringing some orange into the interior but the whole panel would be too much, same for chrome never mind if the sun hits it would blind you!   8)   I`m thinking some type of flat or semi gloss black.

You could brush or engine turn the aluminum too.

And get some "Trans Am" Badges.....  Maybe some T Tops..... :pokeeye:

anlauto

Why not polish the "rings" chrome-like, then paint the rest matte black  :dunno:

If you want correct "old school"  then cover it with prism tape 8)

Yeah..no wood grain for me...just does not fit he style of the car!

@torredcuda is this sort of what you had in mind.  I can take some better picks and give you a walk though of what I did if you like.
