I have my column out because I am replacing dash pad and installing rallye gauges. Is there any maintenance I should do while it is out ?  I have not had any problems with it just figure now is the time to do it  .working on a 73 challenger  thanks for your knowledge  .

they are not really problematic , you could paint all of the tubes to minimize rust , lube the upper brg & tighten the turn signal lever
Cody did a detailed rebuild video

Thanks for a reply.  I watched the videos but because I am not having problems I was not planning on going quite that far. But I will paint it.

Cody's rebuild vid was awesome and it was fairly easy. Mine had lots of gunk in it, so cleaning it out was good. But for painting, it should be pulled apart. My 70's column over laps a bit and it would be hard to get in between the housings. Also, I wouldn't want to get paint inside. If your turn signals, flasher switch, or key switch are bad, You MIGHT want to tear it apart to do the rebuild.
