We are getting everything ready to go back into the doors and rear quarter windows.  Where can I get new cloth coverings for the window guides?  Also, there are 2 different ones.  One has a flat surface (L-shaped), the other is hooked like a J.  I am pretty sure I remember the flat ones going at the top of the door, but where do the J-shaped ones go?
Thanks

Marty

Use the fuzzy side of Velcro for the covering.

I have a set of the ones in in the first link. Just so you  know the "fuzzy" material on those doesn't come close to the originals. Had to mention that so people  know what to expect and aren't as disappointed as I was. Unfortunately it's what we have to work with.

I found a very close replacement fuzzie for the curved outer ones that attach with the countersunk Philips screws.

It's the bottom material from some old furniture feet pads that are used to protect floors. I don't know if you can still buy ones that look like my oldies. Ones from my nearby dollar store don't look anything like them.

I added the material only to the "flatter section"; didn't curve it around the bottom, there was still material there.

A note I added to my window stabilizer listing so no one is disappointed :) .....

Note: The "fuzzy" coating IS DIFFERENT than the original parts. It's actually a better, modern material used by new car manufacturers (we are lucky to be in the Detroit area and have access to knowledagable people and suppliers IN the automotive industry). The original "fuzzy" stuff would have been an expensive task. Only ONE company in Japan makes that kind of material for automotive applications and require a min 30,000ft purchase for a custom product. And it's not cheap. There are 3 iterations of the E body stabilizers. I wasn't about to invest $100K so that something hidden in the door "looked" like the old stuff. They did have a very nice Teflon fiber product but unfortunately the "hair" was a medium brown. Not Black.

PS I also had custom made undercut countersunk head screws for the screws on the early version. The other reproductions had such huge holes that the screws would bottom against the door sheel before the stabilizer was tight. And, yep, the "mohair" material was VERY thin on those too.
