Without Remorse

Hello all, names Danny. New to this site, just coming for C-C.com. Impressed with the technical information on this site. A little about my car, it's a numbers matching 70 440 4 bbl Cuda. It has been in my family since the late '70s. My dad give it to me 20 years ago when I turned 16, but never actually let me pick it up. Finally in Jan. of 2015, I made the trip to Oklahoma and got her with big plans to restore it. Unfortunately, 2 weeks later the oilfield went to crap and I was laid off. The car has sat since then. I finally went back to work again 2 months ago, so i'm about ready to have it restored.

Welcome @Without Remorse    :welcome:  Thanks for joining us and sharing some photos.  Really cool story about the car.  It's pretty rare for a cool car like that to be in 1 family for so long.  I really hope you get a chance to restore it as it's one super muscle car.  Let us know how we can help.      Looks like it's pretty much all there.   Are you going to hire it to be done or do some of it yourself?

The thought all along was that I would do it myself. But I don't know that I am up to the quality that the car deserves. I spoke with Alan Gallant last week and am hoping to send it to him later this year.

I can say this with 100% confidence because I do all my own restorations.  I know exactly what it takes to restore an E-Body to a high level and the cost that go along with it.  I do not think you can find a better person then Alan to restore an E-Body when it comes down to the quality and knowledge you get for the money spent.  I kid you not, I've thought about sending him one of my cars.     And I have everything you could ever want to restore a car right here in my shop, if that tells you what I think of his work.  He's that good and the price he charges is that great.  He knows these cars as well as anyone and has the time, place and connections to turn out high end restorations.  Plus you know your car will be done in a timely manor and you will not be jacked around during the process.  There are more then a few guys that can restore E-Bodies to high end levels, but none of them can do it as fast as Alan and for the money he charges  :alan2cents:  I do feel he is one of the best values when it comes to restoration shops.

Welcome.  That will be one sharp looking car when done. Do you still have the original rear louvers with it.

:welcome: Welcome Danny, aka @Without Remorse I'm glad you took the time to check out our new web site, chalked full of great E Body information and very knowledgable people.

I have to agree with @Cuda Cody with this one... :haha: :haha: You won't find a better place to have your E Body restored....and right now you get 32% OFF with every American dollar spent  :o :bigmoney:

All joking aside....I had a great phone conversation with Danny on the weekend and an rough ballpark estimate was sent based on the above pictures through email....fact of the matter is.....restorations aren't cheap...you really have to have the right car to do, and enough resources to give the car the restoration it deserves.

I'm very fussy on the jobs that I agree to do, and Danny's has hit the mark on every point.....

Rare Car !
Great options !
Cool looking car when finished !
Numbers matching !
Sentimental value !
A basket case most other shops wouldn't want !
Very little or no entry level price !

With Danny having nothing really invested in the car, the complete cost of the restoration will come in a little shy of the resale value of the car once finished. Not many can say that these days. :worship:

Personally, I hope I get a shot to restore this one of a kind Cuda ! :drooling:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....
