No markings on the lid, as far as paint I have no idea.

Thats a nice looking one but I purchased one from Brake and equipment warehouse  they had one sitting there that needed a sleeve

$600 is a very fair price, you'll get that.

That's a good price if it doesn't need a rebuild. I just had my 9171 rebuilt and like most it needed a stainless steel sleeve at a cost of $300 + shipping.

That's exactly what I'm worried about  I bought one last year I knew it needed rebuilding and I paid $300 CDN.

Wow  I paid 400 from brake and equipment with the sleeve ..they rebuilt my proportioning valves and I was told they may have a 171 core there..  2 weeks before I was at Carlisle and found one as soon as I got there for 500 not knowing if it was good or not ..looked thru the whole swap meet could't find another went back it was gone ..
