SE finish panel (sold)

I remember a time when those were still available from the dealer in the late 80's early 90's......every Tom, Dick And Harry had them for sale  ...not so much any more

Yes: They were everywhere for awhile. I bought a new one myself around 1980 I think it was less than $100 from the dealer.

That is what I should have done , I knew they were available from the dealer but didn"t buy one even though my car was missing it

I never needed one until recently, too.  I was lucky to find an NOS one recently for an unbelievable price.   I can't believe how expensive they are nowadays.  All of the SE stuff is mega expensive now.

Yes: I will be careful to stay away from any SE project cars unless they are totally complete and the stuff is in nice condition. It adds an extra level of stress to the restoration. I'd sooner chase multicarb baseplates or T/A exhaust components.

Only SE pieces I am missing are the front valance mouldings and the console light switch.  On the down side, someone swapped my interior to black and painted over all the original blue pieces - and drilled numerous small  "speaker grille holes" in the door panels where they mounted aftermarket speakers.  The seats were replaced with '72 up buckets as well.

some C bodies have a similar overhead light  the lens is different but the mount / housing & switch are the same & are generally easier to find
BEA had repro valance trim , I might still have my original trim too but it is 1000s of miles away

I heard that about the C body light.  I'll see if I can find one.  A bunch of places are carrying the repop valence trim and it's like $350!!!

Sold finally. It's nice to send a part off to get back into service again. This is the only SE part I ended selling. I shredded a set of leather front skins only needing light repair, threw away an original headliner, upper console got thrown away and a few other bits.

That sucks to throw stuff away hey      But then again it sucks to move everything too!

Yes: I hate throwing stuff away but I only have so much room. Basically, I have thrown away a 27' pup trailer jammed with Mopar stuff over the last 4 years. I'm down now to pretty much just having one of everything to put a 70 Challenger back together other than sheetmetal.
