Looking for a nice electric trunk latch, like pictured below

Not very hard to find, from C or M Bodies all the way through the 90's,
A neat addition, was a simple bolt-on on my Challenger, I ran the wire to the glovebox, with the OEM switch, used power from the lighter, which I don't use, so it's always on, just don't tell anyone!

No JYs nearby, hoping to duplicate what you did

Ebay is a place to look.  Used to be a seller that had a supply of them.  Don't remember their name.

You can try Murray B Park, he specializes in C bodies

Could you still get one at a Mopar dealership?  :notsure:

Todays parts counters guys at dealers are usually clueless if something is older than 5 years...
They won't check anything unless you give them a serial number.
But it might be worth a shot with a part number!

The trunk remote release has come  long way since 1970..If you went to the dealership in 70 you'd get a vacuum operated kit...

Next generation would have been the first electric units.. B and C body only no E body trunk release option but that didn't stop anyone from fitting one up to their E body..

screamindriver

The newer unit in question is now a popular addition due to the size and ease of finding them at the boneyard.. Last one I pulled was $5 at the pick and pull boneyard, that's complete with wiring and switch...Be aware there's more than one style of those "newer" units and some will not fit the e body without some modifications so make sure it's like the one pictured in the SECOND pic of this thread...The first one posted will not directly fit the E body due to the  extra metal around the latch...Look closely you'll see what I'm referring to..

You guys must really open your trunk a lot to want to add this
