I'm looking for the exterior rear window trim that is textured. Found on Grand Coupes and rear window louvered Cudas only.
Could use two complete sets if anybody has some they want to part with.

At what you get for your restoration work,Gallant money should be able to start reproducing these and most other needed parts for restorations. :bigmoney:
Tanner money doesn't burn, nickels only melt when you get them hot enough.

Wow! That's nuts for moldings.  How rare could they be if they were on gran coupes too?

Five or six years ago I had a hard time finding a set. If they were hard to find then, they have only gotten more expensive and elusive. This is going to be a hard one to find at a reasonable price. But anymore, what is actually reasonable. I remember the E in in E-Bodies stood for expensive.  :crazytalk:

Alan's statement is misleading, they came on Gran Coupes that had vinyl tops on then, otherwise, they didn't.

Yes, you're correct, vinyl top Grand Coupes...thought that was obvious....
I have two Cudas that the customers want rear window louvers....One is a Resto-mod.....no rules there, and the other is a Hemi CLONE....so neither require $2000 rear window trim....The last set I bought was $400. :'(

For these cars, I'm thinking of black wrinkle finish powder coat  :dunno:  You don't really see much with the louvers in place, but I don't want shiny stainless under there, I know that much  :takealook:

Last set I bought was 850.00.
Sold them for the same price a year later to a friend of mine.

These aren't easy to find.  I'm sure you can find a set in July.

Mr Cuda

I love reading the similar threads with all the same people  talking about how rare and valuable these mouldings are.  (And their going rate)
If I was a person expecting to need some, I'd have been buying all I could find over the years.
You all knew,  and now they has gone crazy

It would be great to have a bunch of projects on the go, with years of time to collect parts, but I get a car dropped off last week that need these parts and I've got about 12 months before it's finished....so time to collect parts is really not available for me. :dunno:

The idea of a textured powder coat makes sense, especially for the resto-mod

I have a question about the textured window trim. The reason I ask is i owned a 71 Gran coupe BP23N1B with a factory vinyl top and it had the stainless trim. Was it an option, or was it only on 70 Gran coupes?

Mr Cuda

In the repair world,  there's a saying.
"You can have it fast, cheap, or perfect. Pick any 2"

If you are buying parts, and the customer is paying,  I'm sure there's an a analogy .
We've all been to the swap meet and seen someone walking out with the part we needed.
So Ebay it is, at $2g's
But everyone seems to know the guy, so get the off Ebay discount
Unless someone on here is going to break out a deal.
I don't make the rules, I was just reading the similar threads, and commented

That's what I was thinking, a little bit better then just painting it black
