As the title states, I'm looking to remove the chrome valve covers on the Dart I just bought. Nothing fancy or super valuable. I just want to go painted stock or mopar crinkle black. I think the chrome looks cheap and is rusted to boot. Having a set that I can clean up or paint will be good enough.

Does anyone have something like this laying around? They could be from anything, just as long as they fit and I can make the engine look stockish

OR, wash your chrome covers, scuff them with a 3M pad, etch prime them and then paint them whatever colour you like.

Hmm, never thought of that. I could use a really good adhesion promoter and go to town...

You could also use tin foil to polish the chrome. Cheap.

You can use any valve cover from 67-the early 90's.  There has to be a yard in your area with some small blocks.  I've got a pair off of a 76 360 but I'm in Iowa.  I'm sure you can find some local for cheap.
