Gary AAR

I am looking to buy an original bumper jack assembly for my 1970 AAR Cuda.  I need the complete assembly which would include:
Mast - T-type
Base
Jack Handle
Jack Mechanism
Hook for steel bumper (part number 2931100)
Ideally the jack mechanism would have a date code that would be appropriate for my car, which was build in March 1970.  Please let me know what you might have, and the asking price.
Thanks.
Gary.

Tony's Parts usually has the jack parts that you need.

I've got a Cuda hook I'd trade for a Challenger hook...if you get close to having the complete set.

What would an appropriate date code on a jack mechanism be for a car built in March 1970?  Two to Three months prior to car build date??

I really don't feel qualified to answer the 'value' question however I've seen two original sets ('T' mast, jack mechanism, handle, base and Challenger hook) with original date stamp and paint (lots of chips and rust) sell in the $275 ~ $300 range however in my opinion they needed cosmetic restoration.  I can't really say if said prices are outliers on the high or low side or if that's average price?

For cars where I've had original jack assemblies I'd say 1-2 months prior is about right. So, for a March built car, probably a January or February jack would be about right.
So...A0, or B0.

I have a D0 I picked up for my April built car. That may be a bit aggressive, but I haven't found a B OR C (February or March of 1970).

Mr Cuda

I hve found no date codes on the T type jack.
 What am I  missing?

The date's I've seen are in the format of a single number representing the year followed by a letter representing the month.  Example: 0 A would be January 1970.  The date is not on the the mast, it's on the jack mechanism itself.  Also, the letter 'I' was skipped thus the letter for September is 'J'.

I was told by someone trying to sell me an undated jack that a high percentage of them did not have a date.  I don't have the breadth or depth of knowledge to say one way or the other what the truth is on the subject.

Mr Cuda

All my T mast jacks have a black mechanisms. Suprised to see a gray one.
These are really clean,  so a date would be obvious. None there. I will check the others.
Most of my known 70's have T, and 2 of my 71's have tube. Tube are  obvious dates.
Other cars came with jacks, but unknown provenance. They were "parts cars" that I  rescued

Good to know regarding no visible date.  Thank you for sharing.

1970 Bumper Jack Original Colors

1970 Bumper Jack assembly colors? All black or all grey? or a mix?

Mr Cuda

Found others, including a gray one.
Only the gray has a date. 9J must be  a common date.

Tony gets $320 for his complete reproduction jacks with hook/handle .....I would like to think original parts bring more money to the right person ??? :dunno:
