I contacted a guy selling a Cuda online, in the ad he states that the car is matching, but in the pictures he sent me the numbers match each other on the engine and transmission but not in the fender tag where the very last digit is a 6 instead of a 8. Anyone has any explanation what the case could be? I haven´t requested the VIN yet.
Cheers

The vin will be the same as what's on the fender tag.

If all the numbers match but there is a one number difference, the last number, I would think it to be a factory mis stamp.

Definitely get a pic of the vin tag.

There are more than one mis-stamps out there.

I have owned two Challengers with 1 digit miss stamps.

Post a photo of the numbers.  Sometimes it's a simple typo by the factory.

Interested in this myself after catching a guy trying to sell me a 70 Challenger RT with supposed numbers matching on the engine. It was grossly counterfeit. Ground and poorly restamped. Looking forward to seeing pics. Proceed with caution.

I would prefer not to post the pictures of somebody else car without permission but I can send them in private, would that be ok 7E-Bodies and Cuda Cody?

7E-Bodies

I'd be fine with it, as long as @Cuda Cody agreed. Probably better wait for his response.

# matching is not an absolute must but it is definitely a plus. What is a must for me is a correct engine and transmission.

So the cons of this Cuda is for me the color combo, green on green, but the positive is the price (very good condition) in the high 40k €, which correct me if I am wrong but for a 1970 340 4 speed (most likely matching) is not bad especially in Europe.

cuda hunter

sounds like a decent price for Europe.

Green on green could be a con, but when they are done up they are a sharp looking car!  I was never a fan of green but it has grown on me.

I wish.  Was down there about a month ago, but we're having a big party at our place today so I'm going to be sticking around home.  If you go please share some photos with us!
