Hi all, the Engine in my 71 Cuda is not original to the car. I posted a pic of the partial Vin on the block. The first 2 characters are unusual, the cast date is 5-3-71. the pad is G440 HP  6  8   A.    Obviously a 71 HP block built in June. .020 OS bore, any idea what plant or vehicle? I was expecting to see 1B308690. Also the trans is an 18 spline, the numbers are hard to read with the exh in the way, but it appears to be 0G2xxxxx. St Louis transmission GTX, Road Runner or Charger perhaps? Thanks

Cuda Cody

Kinda looks like a "D"?  D = Belvedere, IL Plant.   :notsure:

Looks like a double stamp D to me.

1970 Cuda clone 440 4 speed FJ5

Ya probably out of a cop car or Dodge or Plymouth C body from the Belvedere plant.

 :iagree:
1D308690 - '71 Belvedere - 440HP engine - all C-bodies, Dodge or Plymouth "COP CAR" is a good possibility
0G2xxxxx - '70 St. Louis - 18-spline PP833 transmission - all B-body, if you can get the rest of the VIN - I can probably narrow it down to the car-line

'0G2xxxxx' should be correct.  Engines were cast and built the year prior to the car rolling off the assembly line, so the engine was built in 1971 for the 1972 model year.
