Body number question/ missing vin tag

I was looking at the 2 pictures and isn't the serial # 440370 high for the block 10-30 installation date??     :thinking:

the 10 30 (69) is the engine's assembly date not an installation date

& yes, 8 months+ for an engine sitting in inventory before use is not the "norm", but 0B440370 would've been built in the final days/weeks of production for the '70 model year and the plant would've been gathering all the soon to be obsolete inventory for use in the final builds.

& I guess the question still remains, is the VIN stamping legit?
