What are the alternatives if a fender tag from a 70 Challenger R/T built in LA is missing the Y05 code?  Is this common?  Is it a red flag?

Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks for the response.  @6bblgt could you please elaborate on that?

That's looks like a repop tag, to me.  But I don't really care to advertise why I think so. My $0.02.

NO authentic factory 1970 LA tags will have Y05 or Y07

Interesting stuff. Thank you!  Must just be an assembly plant thing I'm guessing.

Is there a REASON why LA plant did not use Y05 or Y07?

Did they use Y09?  I'm assuming LA plant did not build export models.

Y05, build to USA spec
Y07, build to Canada spec
Y09, build for export

That's what I'm wondering too. If it was built for the US why wouldn't it have Y05 on the tag.

Did the LA plant build any cars for export or Canada?
If not, maybe they'd have no need for those codes, as all builds there were for the US.
I don't know if that was the case, just thinking out loud.

3 of the 7 Chrysler Corp. North America passenger car production plants code "Y05" VS "Y07" VS "Y09" (4 DO NOT)

I haven't seen any LA built cars for EXPORT or CANADA

I would then presume that the Y05 was not used at the LA plant due to there not being any export or Canada cars.  Without either of those codes, there is no need to call out that it was produced for the American market.
