IBM Punch Cards

RUNCHARGER

We used boxes of those cards at the railroad. Each card represented a railcar you had in your yard. We would punch the info onto the cards and put them on a rack on a wall that would represent a track. Of course if the destination of the car or empty to load changed we would repunch them. Spent hours doing that. In the old days I could read the info on the card by just looking at the holes, newbies would have to use a legend.

@Aar1064    My understanding is sometimes they were found under carpeting. You used to be able to contact Chrysler and pay a fee and get a poor photo copy off a microfiche of the card for late 60s and older vechiles as new vechiles files were apparently distroied by a fire or something like that.

My understanding is there IBM UNIVAC cards.  Anybody know the series for them?
